gDrives - remote diskspace from gMail

Has anyone tried these to use your 2.5gig gMail allowance for remote file storage and retrieval? Seems pretty neat.

gDisk for Mac

GMail Drive for Windows

Sun is sort of getting there with their free services which may soon be available as part of a Public Open Grid with diskspace

We have a crappy computer connected to a phosphorimager scanner whose software only works on with our old processor/motherboard. I use gmail to save my scans and then open them on my workbench computer whenever I need them. The computers don't see each other on the network and the computer doesn't have a CD burner or USB ports so this is the best way I've found to transfer the files.
