I think these song titles lack inspiration. and when I say "lack" I mean suck, and when I say "inspiration" I mean balls. but hey, I'm in for "other places..." I guess.

I think the titles are actually kinda good. They're more... well, you can interpret them differently. I dunno. I dig them.

I've got this week off(except for Monday) so I'm gonna be in for a high quality song. Think, no buzzy guitar or incomprehensible lyrics... ahh, joy. (Also we got some fun new toys for recording, so it'll be interesting to try them out)

I like these titles, because they don't suggest anything. They force the songwriter to actually write something that's not just a novelty approach based upon the strangest word in the title. That's not inspiration, that's word-association.

...and in a twist of irony my band have a song called The Word Association.

Thus my lyricism is shown up for the shallow facade that leaves me thinking I should have stuck to instrumentals

Agreed. Some of these titles have been very hard to do because it's hard to stray from whatever comes to mind when you hear "Leaf Blower". I made an effort to not say the word in my song this week and instead write a song inspired by it.

I came up with my song this week by playing around with a hook that involved the words "leaf blower", but I later took the words out because it would have sounded stupid.

I think I am in for "Other Place I Have Lived". I keep hearing Ambrosia's "Somewhere I've Never Traveled" in my head, though...Eek

I liked the titles too...for much the same reasons as others...more room for intrepretation. Which means more opportunity to say something you want in a tune. sometimes wacky titles are cool for just the opposite reasons. It seems to me they do a good job of shaking it up actually.

Ha! Yes. I'm way too easily sucked in by novelty song titles. This week I got nothing....yet

Well, I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that, try as I might, I just didn't have enough time to finish a song before I go to Ohio for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

The good news is that you'll never have to know the full extent of what happens when I try to hurredly write a song while I have Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" stuck in my head.

Actually, I'm in for "We All Need Love". I've never been this excited about a song I've written, so I'm psyched for the next fight. Luckily I finished it before I have to go visit my folks for Thanksgiving tommorow.

I would like to make up a song for Other Places I Have Lived, but I can't, because all my gear is packed up/in storage, because I'm moving to a new home next week. Oh, the sweet, sweet irony.

a Stephenless sos is in with an advanced class in wankery and guitar overdubbing for "Other Places." it's not too late to change your lyrics and be in the other fight!

I am offically in for We All Need Love.

I've left my feeble one-time attempt at singing and have gone back to the tried and true rap style that you all love (and just don't know it yet). :D
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

k, I've submitted my 'Other Places...' track, I think it's a direct reaction to the sonic sludge that was TMK's Leaf Blower; it's kinda short on hooks, but we'll see how it goes.

...and there's a prize for anyone who spots the deliberate mistake in the lyrics  (which I'm not going to bother posting, yet).

I should be in for 'Other Places I Have Lived' as long as I can get it recorded today.
