Has anyone ever put a song on this website? http://www.garageband.com/htdb/index.html

It looks really wanky. I was curious to see how it works - so I've just done my 30 song reviews to get a free song upload ("I Know My Rights"). Just sitting by now waiting for my reviews and paid radio airplay and fan mail and all the other stuff they seem to promise

They even review the reviews. Apparently I'm not very good at it. I don't know what part of "This is crap" they don't understand.

Anyway - from the 30 songs I've heard - not a lot of it is good. There is a much better hit/miss ratio on SF! or somesongs.

So anyone else dabbled here?

Yep. People don't seem to like my music much on there, but I guess it's the same here. The reviewing to get a song upload is kinda good. Makes you work for it. Also, means you don't get as much soundwankery as you do here. The 'joke' bands and whatnot. I only really review the Folk Rock genre, and it's just a lot of pretty guitar and old guys singing. It's all okay, but rarely and bad ones.

Yeah, I had a few bands up there. I got bored doing reviews once they stopped giving away prizes for doing them. The reviews I got weren't all that helpful and we didn't get any fame or fortune. I think you'll get better results these days listening to people on myspace and e-mailing them.

I had a goofy song called Asshat that was the song of the day there once. My fifteen minutes are over.

I won the Budweiser Review of The Month Prize once. I called a SM57, I think, but then I never printed out the release and faxed it back to the bitchy woman so I never got it.

So, they do still give out prizes, I guess.

Well, my Garageband.com debut has been a huge success. My submission of I Know My Rights has just been awarded the title of:

Stupidest Song in Alternative Rock, week of 5 Dec 2005

:D :D
Gotta be happy about that!
