I'm moving to California.
February-ish. Orange. Laguna Hills, specifically.
I'll be driving out there, so I'll have a vehicle at least. I'll be bringing the Peavey duo of death (guitar and bass), my keyboard and amp, and maybe a Martin if I decide to buy one here soon.
I've decided this because Dallas is a dead-end town, as far as music goes. I figure if I don't make this move soon, I'll become tethered in one way or another. Right now I don't have a girlfriend, school's a joke, and my job will suck after Christmas.
I've already got a gig lined up. I'll be playing piano for a blues-singer lady. It's not a full-time gig, but it'll be a reasonably steady one. Also, I could make some phone calls, and have calls made on my behalf, and could probably get a job in a Guitar Center or something pretty easily.
I'll be staying with my aunt for a while, until I get on my feet out there. I know it's expensive, and i know I could get murdered, but I feel like I need to do this.
Plus, I'll be able to go to all those fancy SF presents shows you guys do.
Suggestions, comments, warnings?

I recall a better one...one where you could actually map it down to streets and stuff.roymond wrote:Here's a good place to start: somesongs Frappr mapThe Sober Irishman wrote:And how close would you and I be, Ken? How close would I be to everyone?

Do you actually recall it (and choose not to share it with us)? Or do you recall that there is another one that does that (and can't remember what it is)? Either way, I suppose people don't really want or need to share more than their zip code for this exercise.Hoblit wrote:I recall a better one...one where you could actually map it down to streets and stuff.roymond wrote:Here's a good place to start: somesongs Frappr mapThe Sober Irishman wrote:And how close would you and I be, Ken? Yes, I recall it getting a bit out of hand. I'm thinking the Frappr thing is less taxing administratively.abecedarian wrote:JB was running a guestmap that had a bunch of people on it but it seems to be defunct. Search the forum for Songfight Guest Map and you'll find the thread.
