Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

All last week I was saying "Yeah, it doesn't matter so much to me if they win, I'm just glad they finally got there at all."

What a load o' crap that turned out to be. I was livid.

Seattle, the prettier but less flashy younger sister of the ever-popular prom queen that is the Bay Area, lets her older sister bully her around, knowing that deep down, there lies a bitter core of resentment that her little sister still has what is long gone in herself.

Or so I'd like to think.

Two days after the Steelers beat the Seahawks 21-10 in the NFL title game, the league said the game was "properly officiated."

Pathetic.

All four of the controversial calls listed in the article went completely the wrong way, the Hasselbeck tackle being the most blatantly horrible call in the game.

Regardless of rooting interest, regardless of whether "the Steelers made the right plays at the right time" or whether "the Seahawks played a bad game," regardless of what team would have won the game despite the refs... the fact that every sports media outlet in the nation has been ripping apart the officiating to this moment, since the game (and furthermore, the playoffs) started, means there is serious work to be done on Park Avenue. No more part-time referees, at the very least.

I swear, the moment they threw the flag I was jumping out of my seat yelling, "There is no F---ing way they are throwing that flag on the quarterback". God that was egregious.

Jim, I feel bad for you and all, and yes the officiating was poor, not only in this game but throughout the playoffs. But Homlgren's coaching sucked. His clock management sucked. Did he forget that he can call timeouts from the sideline? He should have stayed in Detroit and interviewed for their open coaching position. The really bad news for you guys is unless the re-sign Alexander, there's little hope for you to get back next year.

I wish I had something to say that would make you feel better, but I don't.
