Congratulations on the "Black Dress"

Post by stueym »

Bjam heard just before her birthday that she passed her audition to be part of the elite choral group at school. Made for a very happy environment in the household.

Terrific recognition of her talents and much deserved. More importantly the girls in this choral group get to have a beautiful black evening dress made for them that they wear when they perform . Apparently this is highly important and the music department equivalent of getting a "letterman" jacket :-)

BTW I love how this picture makes Bjam "the younger" look like she is blowing a huge bubble :D

Congrats to Bjam.

Certainly this is no more elite than being in the Cutie Pies.

Great work, Bjam. Congrats.

I myself have always regretted the fact that I've never had a black evening dress of my very own.

Hey congrats!

Jeez, I should hope those guys would recognize your talent-- I'd imagine you were a shoe-in.

In other news, I think you all should also campaign to have letterman jackets as well. Or perhaps pink satin motorcycle jackets. Your varsity letter could be A#.

I lettered in band for 4 years in highschool. While I never bought the jacket, I have the letter to prove it. My folks bought me a black leather biker jacket instead.

That's all she needs. Wearing a big A around. Who is she, Hester Prynne?? But the # would be hot because that's an octothorpe and she'd be representin' for her Songfight homies.

Hee! That didn't even occur to me. Hester Prynne kicks ass!

Hester Prynne in Octothorpe? Now THAT would be something! The Starlet Letter!

Thanks all. I'm pretty happy to have gotten in. Being in an area where kids have had voice lessons since they could talk is a little daunting.

And, btw, it's not just a black dress. It's very pretty. Kinda like this. But without the crazy hair.

As for being Hester Prynne? Awesome. I should really work on having a guy's illegitimate child, but I just can never find the time to do anything about it. :P

Hey! So this group of mine has a performance on Wednesday night. And, ha, guess who got a solo and beat out the seniors? Moi! So if you're in the King of Prussia-y area(which I don't think anyone is, but a girl can dream :P) PM me and I'll tell you more info.

Also, I'm playing a set at Jamnesty(fundraiser concert thang for Amnesty International) on Thursday afternoon. It'll be me and a guitar in the mud outside.

Going from singing ungodly high soprano operatic solos to rocking out in the mud in under 24 hours!
