One of my favorites from the UK-area was called Cafferey's ... just when I was getting into the swing of it, you couldn't get it any more. Any idea why?

You can still get it. On tap in most pubs. But it's an ale, I believe (well if you mean Caffreys)

Robinson Brewing on Cawthra. They closed up shop :( They used to be the best place to get kegs, 'cause along with charging less than Brewer's Retail, they also provided the fridge-with-built-in-tap. So much more civilized, ya know?

Uh, yeah, I guess I added an extra "e". You used to be able to get it here in the states in the tall cans w/ foamizer thingy like in Guinness. I haven't seen it here in ages, either there or on tap. Maybe they just stopped importing it here. Yet another reason to go to London :)

Sierra Nevada and Red Hook ESB, respek. Having a Red Hook now.

Theakston Old Peculiar and Old Speckled Hen are woth seeking out if you like heady English beers.

Of all the places I've been, Oregon has the most great local beers. Can't remember a one now.

Tonetripper, when I was in college an Abita truck broke down in town, really, and all the beer was set to expire so they were selling for $2 a six pack. I think we bought the entire truck worth of Turbodog and drank nothing else for the rest of the semester.

I know they're quite trendy and perhaps no longer "micro" but I've enjoyed a few fine McMenamins in Oregon.

The fact that he's 34 is what really thrills me!

Fresh beer is overrated anyway. So are expiration dates. :P

There was a Long Trail promo at the Lucky Dog in Plymouth last night. Today I have a bottle opener and a t-shirt and a headache. Tasty beer, though. Recommended.

Current six-pack: Otter Creek Copper Ale from Vermont. I like this. I don't know as much about describing flavors as I do for wine, but it's smooth and flavorful. Good stuff.

Good for you! May I interest you in some coffee and cigarettes while you're here? Perhaps some Autotune, while we're at it?

That is wise. Drinking beer makes you far more attractive and interesting. Not drinking beer will probably make you homosexual.

Yes, we know. That's why we send it to Americans. Consider it revenge for Everyone Loves Raymond and Barney the Dinosaur

The term most commonly used for people like your friend is "Wanker". Or perhaps, "Complete Fucking Wanker"

No, no, dear Aussie. You can't avenge that twice. Don't know what I'm talking about? Here let me ruin your day for you:

(psst. northern hemispherians shut your eyes now!)

Hot potato, hot potato.
Hot potato, hot potato.
Hot potato, hot potato.
Potato.
Potato, potato, potato.

(okay, you can open your eyes again now).

OH GOD I LOOKED

Hey wait... my hangover's gone! Yahoo!
Not getting into round two tonight though. This weekend I'm playing at a frat up in Potsdam, NY, so Lord knows I ought to take a night off.
