Dream concerts

Post by Bjam »

I'm watching this recording of a Queen concert in the Milton Keynes Bowl in 1982, and it's pretty damn good. Makes me wish I could have seen them live, but there was a slight problem with the timing there. They just seem like such an awesome band to see live.

So. Which musician/band do you wish you could see play live(in either a one-on-one performance or a huge stadium full of people)?

(I think the best concert I've actually been to though has definitely been Robbie Williams at the MK Bowl with my Dad. Watching a true performer sing and enjoy it and listen to a crowd appreciating them is something amazing. Although I've gotta say, Spice Girls concert? Preeeeetty damn good.)

add The Velvet Underground and The Pixies - and that would even get me out from in front of the television.

also, Radio Birdman supporting The Saints would be a pretty cool show.

I'll second Nirvana, and throw in the following, in order of preference:

Zeppellin ~with John Bonham. There are some drummers who have grace, power, style, funkyiness, heaviness, groove... and then there is Bonham.

Metallica ~ Cliff Burton.

Jimi ~ Imagine what he'd sound like..today! My god...

Miles Davis ~ One of the few jazz legends that really hooked me. That would be an unreal show man.

And for cheesebox sentimental reasons, I'll throw a shout out to my buddy Joe, who disappeared two years ago now. I'd love to be playing a show with him again... recapture the vibe we once had... fuck yeah!! That'd be great.

Oh, and no dead ones here, but the Police, live... oh yeah.

I second the Police - anywhere along their timeline
I also missed Genesis ala The Lamb

I did see the Talking Heads as a foursome, but missed the big party gigs (Burning Down the House era) which look like great fun on film.

As with Jimmy, Janice Joplin comes to mind. Seems like she was a hit and miss performer who, when hitting it, absolutely blew people away. Similar with Jaco Pastorius, who I saw numerous times.

I went to the 1992 show. Soundgarden, the Chilis, fuck yeah. Jesus and the Marychain bored me, but man, what a GREAT show.

I think it'd be sweet to go to a Liquid Tension Experiment concert if they still did shows ... maybe Transatlantic ... most of all, I'd love to go to a Deshead concert. That guy is incredible.

Octothorpe. Unless they do an international tour, I would say my chances of seeing them are slim

Also;
Custard (broke up just as I was at that prime gigging age)
Jethro Tull (the young Jethro Tull, not this oldies edition)
Vrag

thats all i can think of, right now.

We should do a songfight bottle drive to get Sausage Boy to an Octothorpe show.

Or sent Octothorpe to him...either way.

This Heat, out of curiosity.

Doors and Love on the same bill.

but realistically, I must see Itch and I'm mega-pissed that I didn't see them last time they were in London.

It's gotta be a # world tour! Then we can all be happy. :D

I second the Police—that would be cool.

I'd also add earlier Husker Du, Minor Threat and the Specials back when they had Terry Hall. The Clash—but I'd prefer it wasn't the Cut the Crap tour.
