Nothing Day
nothing is where you came from
nothing is what you became
so fade away into nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what you gave me
when i needed everthing
depart from me into the nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what you returned me
when i gave you everything
shrivel and shrink into nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what I want now
nothing is all you can say
so fade away into nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what you became
so fade away into nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what you gave me
when i needed everthing
depart from me into the nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what you returned me
when i gave you everything
shrivel and shrink into nothing
cause this is your nothing day
nothing is what I want now
nothing is all you can say
so fade away into nothing
cause this is your nothing day

I went to the shop, bought a bag of chips
Went to the beach, caught a little fish
Bought it back home, put it in a pan
Waited on the street for the Mr. Whippy van
I watched SmackDown then King of the Hill
Someone call my phone asked can I speak to Will?
I said I'm Will and they said damn
We'd really like to put you on our telephone plan
I said I'm really sorry but I haven't got a job
So I couldn't pay the bill you should call my friend Rob
'Cause he was telling me his contract expired
Could you hold on a second 'cause my fish is on fire
I put the fish out and came back to the phone
But the man had hung up and now I was alone
I guess they didn't care about getting Rob's money
So I finished watching King of the Hill and it was funny

we get up and start our routines every single day
and everything seems to be ok
we could just kill ourselves but we're afraid to pass away
so we must like it this way
we flick on our radios or maybe the TV
half expecting what we will see
adapting our brains to repetition of activity
becoming acustomed to that which repeats
-
but the sun will come up again tomorrow
and the day will be the same
the monotonous blend of joy and sorrow
because nothing will ever change
-
we get up for the daily grind and head into the fray
for a brand new nothing day
we wind down again with the same old things to say
at the end of each nothing day
what is in the secret sauce
and I want my salad tossed
no leche especial
por favor
listen to the people say
stupid things throughout the day
no Huevos provincial
por favor

Nothing Day
By Steve Durand
Nothing to do, no one to see
There's nowhere that I have to be
No reason to get out of bed
I used to have a sense of purpose
Driving me
Since she walked out the door
I just don't feel it anymore
Ever since she went away
The colors turned to shades of gray
Tommorrow's gonna be just like today
Every day's a nothing day
Every day's a nothing day
I'm not happy, I'm not sad
To me it's neither good nor bad
My only attitude is apathy
I used to have a passion burning
In my heart
But the fire has gone out
Ever since we've been apart
Ever since she went away
I'm standing here with feet of clay
And nothing that I want to say
Every day's a nothing day
Every day's a nothing day
There was supposed to be a third verse but I just ran out of time so the song just kind of ends abruptly.

"Nothing Day" by Quetzalcoatlus
(There's nothing about this song... this is a song about nothing there)
It all started 100 years ago
You know, nothing really happened at all
There wasn't a war, and no one famous was born
At least not than anyone can recall
No one traveled the world by unicycle
There was no dramatic turn of events
On this very date on the calendar
Nothing happened of consequence
Cause it's...
Nothing day
Oh,nothing day
And if you forget to send everyone cards, well, really it'll be okay
Nothing day
Oh, nothing day
And we've got nothing
Absolutely nothing to...
Celebrate
Well there ain't gonna be a parade
And all the shriners gonna stay at home
Their little cars tucked in little garages
Main Street will be a fez-free zone
You won't get the day off from work
Well, unless you are unemployed
But if that is the case, my friend
Well you can sit at home and play Metroid
Nothing day
Oh nothing day
And if you forget to give everyone gifts, well really it'll be okay
Nothing day
Oh nothing day
And we've got nothing
Absolutely nothing to...
Celebrate

Nothing Day : C Hack
Wake up to the sound of Let it Be
The Macca's on your alarm, but you're still asleep
You get up, fix some coffee with some Beam
Baby you know what you mean to me?
Could I forget that you love me?
It's such a nothing day
After work I come down to the Choppin Block
You're serving up and drinking up, and it ain't gonna stop
All your two-bit horsemen, they're all lifting you up
And I just say fuck it, and get you to get me a shot
Could I forget that you love me?
It's such a nothing day
Wake up to the sound of Let it Be
The Macca's on your alarm, but you're still asleep
You get up, fix some coffee with some Beam
Baby you know what you mean to me?
Could I forget that you love me?

nothing day
running down the street in tears
you flew into his arms and said, "you love her"
he looked away and said, "it's true"
as if it was the only truth he knew
two months later, 3 a.m. he's drunk and on a corner
yelling god knows what at god knows who
that's long since been squared away
today was just a nothing day, nothing day
"you're not my daughter if you
climb into that car with him," your mother said
then you savoured the betrayal as you
showed him your tattoo under the bandages
it was raw as if you'd scraped your knee
and written in a language that you still don't understand
and now it's just a blurry scrawl
today is just a nothing day, nothing day
nothing day, your life till now has led up to this nothing day
nothing day, secure in the complacency of nothing day
you gathered his possessions in a cardboard box
and left it with the concierge
you thought you might enjoy it more
listening while he poured out apologies
a good excuse to spend a weekend
drinking yet another few years off the far end of your life
which now seems not so far away
you paddle through a nothing day, nothing day
you flew into his arms and said, "you love her"
he looked away and said, "it's true"
as if it was the only truth he knew

I love public holidays
don’t go to work
see the family
play in the park
why is this a holiday?
don’t know don’t care

don’t know don’t care
I hate public holidays
no-one comes to work
they get nothing done
I still have to pay them
why is this a holiday?
don’t know don’t care

She said that she'd return to me
And she would signal me with light
She faded into the standing trees
And I've been wasting away my time
In this molecule
But in my isolation
Some thoughts have come to mind
And if you will, a revelation:
Assumption of infinite supply
Of thoughts and words like anything else
Will lead us straight into depletion
Eventually everything will be recorded
And there won't be anything left for us to say
Prepare for Nothing Day
And she returns to me
I see the light and open up my arms
And finally we are one again
She sees the tears in my eyes
I tell her of the disturbance
She fails to understand
And offers very little assurance
And she would signal me with light
She faded into the standing trees
And I've been wasting away my time
