Coffee

Post by c.layne »

so i usually hate coffee, and have managed to avoid it for most of my life because i've always thought it tasted like dirty water, but hot. hot dirty water. the past few weeks, however, i've gotten to where i'll drink a mug of it in the morning at work to stay awake, and i'm getting to where i can tolerate it now, and i'm worried i might actually start to like it.

what do you think of coffee?

dan, this thread is your fault...

I effing LOVE coffee.

I usually drink it black. If I have a coffee after dinner..then I might sweeten it up with sugar and cream.

If all of a sudden there was no coffee on the planet. I too would cease to exist.

i was kidding! haha.

i'm really not into hot beverages. i like my liquids to be cool.

i do like hot chocolate, but i only drink it if i've been ripping it up and kickin' ass in some sort of winter, outdoor activity. and only if someone else makes it for me.

Coffee is my drug of choice. Strong with cream, but not light. Sugar ruins the party entirely. Unless it's coffee icecream, which is fun to make. Starbucks also ruins the party entirely. Unless it's icecream, which is made by somebody else.

If not for coffee, I would not go to work in the morning. Period.

In fact, i would probably not get out of bed at all. I mean, why bother?

I love coffee more than my own arms and legs. If I had to choose between coffee and my arms and legs, I'd have to figure out how to get the mug to my lips without arms.

Oh, it has to have International Delights(tm) French Vanilla creamer in it, too. Because I'm a big faggy puff who likes french vanilla creamer in his coffee. So what of it?! Stop teasing me. I'll fucking *cry*, see if I don't!

i've always been somewhat aware of the vast aray of different types of coffee, but that post towards the top made no fucking sense to me.

i guess i've tried a few types, but i can't tell the difference between them. i guess my palate isn't sensitive enough to the intricacies of my dirt water yet.

[edit] oh yeah, and for all you videogame dorks, the new animal crossing game has a cafe where you can get a cup. the character drinks it in one gulp, which is insane.

I used to work at a Dunkin Donuts, and when you spend that much time around coffee, you start to either loathe it or completely depend on it.

With me, it got to the point where I would down two or three cups during a normal shift. I used to like it sweet with milk and very very hot.

Now I'm in college with a Starbucks on campus and Starbucks tastes like mud to me so I pretty much haven't had a cup in about seven months. The withdrawl symptoms were tough but now I think I am over it!

Given that I am around free coffee at all times at work, I have tried my best to like it, but it's revolting. Bleh.

Last night this thread got me jones'n for some coffee. I couldn't be drinkin' no coffee late at night or else I'd be up all hours.

Finally though, this morning... a fresh brew to start my day. Ahhh.

Sven, excluding the froofy vanilla creamer...we feel the same way about coffee.

I think I'm as addicted to the vanilla flavouring as the coffee. If I run out of creamer, I have it with cream, sugar, and a shot of vanilla extract. Vanilla is like the nicest flavour on earth.

They say a lot of coffee is bad for you. What do they know? I love it. Can't live without it, and though I'm obliged to have a cup of tea once a day I still much prefer Coffee. Strong, white and with 1 sugar.

Mmmm.

I wrote a song about coffee once for one of my album-a-days. It is entitled, fittingly enough, <a href="http://www.crushfeldspar.com/albums/cal ... >Coffee</a>. Check it totally out.

YES.

I was once one of the coffee haters. Of course, I used to hate beer, gin, wine, pot, lsd, xtc, pr0n, sugar and video games too.

But then I had coffee.

I blame my wife. She is an avid coffee drinker. Now...so am I. Ain't romance sweet?

oh... cream only, no sugar. I consume at least 6 cups a day. yum.

mmm, i did that to my wife too. coffee and beer, but only certain kinds still.
i really like to use the "sugar in the raw" in my (regular) coffee. adds a nice flavor. don't use any cream, that's yucky.

Why do Americans always talk about cream in coffee?

Do you actually use 'cream' or are you really referring to milk?

I've never seen a cup of coffee that actually had cream in it - unless it was one of those poofy, gay-bar coffees with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles and vanilla flavouring - like Sven drinks

Anyway - I like my coffee like my women - instant.
