In this world I get so distracted
My sins they're reenacted
Satan's here for lies and stealing
But lord you offer healing
Chorus:
Lord I'm so glad you are mine
Cause your power is so divine
Lord you are so much in control
I shall praise you with all my soul
Oh righteous offering
You hear my cry for mercy
What a marvelous marvelous healer
You are so truth-revealing
Oh lord your infinite wisdom
Let it flow through me in this kingdom
You're my strenght my essence lord
Just to be in your presence lord
These kids and their songs are killing me. Take those lyrics, and put them over the same two suspend-y chords over and over for FOUR MINUTES.
My task is basically take a crappy recording of them and a guitar and arrange and record a full production of the song. Then I have to take my rig to their house and record them singing over it.
My only perk is that I have a bit of artistic freedom with the backing. So on the boy's first song, I was like "you know what this needs? HUMBUCKERS." Layers of thick rock followed.
I'll post some noteworthy before/after links as I finish.
These kids and their Jesus songs
"You are so truth-revealing" is remarkably awkward.

In one of my favorite Southpark episodes, Cartman discovers that he can write Christian rock by taking secular pop songs and replacing the word "baby" with "Jesus."
"I wanna get down on my knees and start pleasin' Jesus."
Perhaps you should suggest this lyrical strategy to your.... clients? (I hope they're paying you!)
