Hey, Jim! You're in my neck of the woods! Glad you tried some Sackets Harbor beer. Their War of 1812 Ale is good. Makes you want to fight.jimtyrrell wrote:Report from the road:
I'm in Potsdam, NY. Last night I tried something by the Sackets Harbor Brewing Co., called Thousand Islands Pale Ale. It was tasty, but with perhaps too much character. I couldn't imagine drinking more than two of these before wanting to switch to something a little less overpowering.
They have a restaurant that offers limited-run brews. A local bakery even uses their brewing "leftovers" to make a "beer bread." Very good stuff. Hope you're enjoying your stay in the borderlands.

Well Dammit, I wish I'd seen your post while I was out there! I'm back in NH now. Next time!
The rest of the beer I drank over the course of the weekend (and it wasn't too much, as I was actually supposed to be there to play) was keg beer at Delta Upsilon. Busch Light, I think. Good beer for drinking games. Oh, and one of the sororities showed up with some big container full of some kind of punch. Tasted like Kool-Aid with bug spray in it; gin, maybe?
