let's just say it's an embarrassment to the community at large to anyone that visits here for the first time. it certainly doesn't represent what most people on songfight are about. and if it does, then i'm pretty much done here.

preaching hate and ignorance. there's lots of other stuff people could be talking about. like music.

what the heck are you talking about? who is preaching hate and ignorance, other than crates, who gets an entire 5 page thread - properly moved out of the reviews! - dedicated to telling him what a piece of shit he is.

well quit putting out fire with gasoline dude. if you'd taken your issue up with him in private, we wouldn't have 5 pages of shit. you seemed to get more bent about this than duncan did.

if crates wants to open his mouth and let everyone know what a homophobic racist he is, let him. let everyone judge for themself what his true colors are.

Rarely is songfight about the music. Better to revel in the irreverence for humanity in general.

Which is true.

Being from Panama, my youngest sister & I have often battled over which terminology best describes our family. Do we fall under Black or Latino. In the end, we fall under Panamian because umbrella names like Black, Hispanic, White are often bad for making proper descriptions.

My statement was just a joke. I don't really care either way. I understand that being from Central America means that my heritage includes people who came to Panama from Spain, people who were native to Panama and blacks who were brought over to the area. (Which is the root of the name SPIC- SPanish/Indigenous/Colored)

Also, Van Halen never did a song called "Black Hispanic White."

Jack you know I consider you a good friend, but I have to disagree with you on this - Blue did absolutely the right thing by setting up this thread, and by moving it away from the review thread.

How would it look to potential new fighters if we as a community let such moron-talk pass by unchallenged? Crates expressed his opinion, and a huge number of songfighters turned up to show, for the most part, they disagreed. It's good that new potential songfighters know off-the-bat (ty) that most of us don't tolerate this sort of crap. And if it stops a few people who 'hate the gays' from posting the sort of shit Crates has been passing off as justifiable opinion, then all the better.

Hey, it's democracy in action. Hmmm , sounds familiar. :)

yes ray you are correct. that confused me too. i figured out what it meant from the context of the earlier post, but i don't know what it stands for (if indeed it is an acronym in this case). (incidentally, in its commoner sense, the term stands for "automated teller machine")

[edit... after thinking about it for a few minutes -- not something i really had ever thought i'd spend time doing -- i think i've figured out what it means. although if i'm correct, it would be more accurately abbreviated as "A2M".]

well, not "accurately." 2 is in my opinion a less accurate acronymical letter than T for the word "to." maybe generally it's A2M more often than it is ATM, but i've seen both. ... like, in print, i mean.

That's right, and I think thats something we can all be proud of. It says something about the good natured qualities of the overwhelming majority of folks here that when we are joined by a worthless piece of shit, he then sticks out like a sore thumb. Even after going to great lengths to prove himself an idioitic and self involved worthless piece of shit, several folks here want to give him a second chance solely out of the interest of being friendly and open mided. You guys are all very cool, kind people, I'm honored just to be here with ya'll.

However, if it were up to me he'd gotten the boot right after his reviews. In my experience, Haters don't stop being haters just because they lurk around people who aren't. And I've been stuck hanging out with plenty of haters from time to time. It's hard to enjoy yourself around someone who can't help themselves from spewing hateful sentiment, whether it be racist, mysogynist, or homophobic.

But if it wreen't for this thread I wouldn't know about Niv's heritage. Or that Carvan Ray was such a giving and selfless lover. Mrs. Ray must be a very lucky lady.
