ah, I got a copy of that Akron/family thing, but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. I've been listening to too much Rainer Maria; hardly exciting but I love their 'Look no, look again' album loads.

Also, the Books, and Battles latest records are both very good

I went to a friend's 40th birthday party on the weekend and there was a lot of 70s and 80s music playing.

I hadn't heard it for years - but I am now convinced that Bat Out Of Hell by Meatloaf is possibly the greatest song ever written.

Wow, is that the '86 remake or the original? I remember loving that '86 version when it came out, er, I was 13, yeah. Sounds pretty bad now but at least it's better than the original version. Haha, I hadn't thought of that song in years.

"In A Roman Mood" by Human Sexual Response. The singer veers towards annoying occasionally, but this record stands very tall today with great playing and writing. I nominate "Land Of The Glass Pinecones" as one of the greatest songs ever created.

i've never heard the song but I will do this if Rone wants to.

edit now that I've heard it, my opinion (as an industy leader) is that it is a pretty good song stop dissing my dogs. The dude or dudes are pretty good at rapping, as good as any proffesional rapper. the words are pretty funny without being stupid. the song has a theme, it's about having a good time, and it sounds like wham are. I would say this "terrible rapping by white guys" is better than most of what what the black guys on the other side of the world were doing at the time.

This and it's ilk were particular favourites of Mrs. stueym and I as this was our first meeting era. We actually listened to this album on the first trip I took her back to Scotland to meet my family. We travelled 400 miles overnight on (very budget) Cotter's Coaches from London to Glasgow. Who knows maybe music had some genetic imprint on Bjam scarring her for life

Personally speaking I prefer the rhymes in the breakout "Young Guns-Go For It" I did not take the advice offered in the chorus of course as I married Mrs. stueym about 6 months later

Venus Hum's "Big Beautiful Sky." The woman from this band sang one of the songs (a cover of "I Feel Love") on Blue Man Group's last album & when they toured this band was one of the openers. Great poppy, electronicish stuff. And the lead singer is quite a character. Cool.
