What a Horrible Thing to Say

Post by JonPorobil »

Is anyone else even in this fight?

Jon Eric - "What a Horrible Thing to Say"

He made a list stretching twenty-three stories and he filled it with his woes
And every item that he reads aloud is like a hammer on your broken toes
He leans forward with a fist on the corner and you can't tell if he's laughin' or cryin'
And when he whispered in your ear these years, he tells you he was probably lyin'

What a horrible thing to say to a woman you supposedly love
He's standing with his hands behind his head, looking like he's said enough
What a horrible way to end the affair and all the heartbreak
You better take the bait, play it straight, learn to be the b-i-t-c-h

(Now here's the man's side of the story)

The little lady with the coke bottle body says she got you by the short hairs
But it's a stumble, the bannister crumbles as she tumbles down the stairs
Her bones are just a little brittle and the spittle on her chin says that she needs help
Instead you tell her her reflection in the mirror means that you're gonna (gonna) see her in Hell

What a horrible thing to say to a woman you supposedly love
She's wheezing, yeah, hardly breathing, don't you think you had enough?
What a horrible way to end the affair and all the heartbreak
You better take it back, you better get on track, hold hands with that b-i-t-c-h
"Warren Zevon would be proud." -Reve Mosquito

I've learned to stop asking why
I know the answers in the sky

But...

My feet are firm on the ground
There is no God I have found
There's one less soul to feed your gruel

And so the race still goes on
Chaos remains when you're gone
I keep repeating "There's no God"

There's no God...

What a Horrible Thing to Say

(Glen): I can’t believe what I just heard
What a horrible thing to say
I don’t you meant it, it’s too absurd
I’ll come back when you feel OK

(Girl): How did you get my address Glen?
Do I have to call the police?
I’ll tell you again, I don’t want you AT ALL!
And I’ve been telling you that for weeks

I never meant to lead you on
In fact I wish that we never spoke
Your obsession is scaring me
Understand there is no hope

(Glen): I can’t believe what I just heard
What a horrible thing to say
I don’t think you meant it, it’s too absurd
I’ll come back when you feel OK

(Girl): It’s not that we don’t have things in common
and it’s not that you’re not that cute
but your scale is tipped far too close to crazy
I’d rather die than be with you

What’s in your head is a fantasy!
For God’s sake Freak, just let it go!
I’ve stated clear, I don’t want you here!
What else do you need to know?

(Glen): I can’t believe what I just heard
What a horrible thing to say
I don’t think you meant it, it’s too absurd
I’ll come back when you feel OK

She’s playing “hard to getâ€
