Dee Snider Spotting

Post by frankie big face »

Yesterday at JFK, I spotted Dee Snider waiting at the international baggage claim. I shook his hand and told him I enjoyed his interview segments in Metal: A Headbanger's Jouney (a very fun documentary now on DVD) and he said thanks and that's about it (I didn't want to bother him too much). Nice guy.

Just thought I'd share. :D

Hey, I met him years ago at some music conference. He's also a very well spoken guy on panels, etc.

Man, what terminal were you at? I came in on Delta International around 9:30 last night.

I did a little Internet snooping and, as it turns out, it was the entire Twisted Sister band I saw grabbing instruments off the belt. Apparently, they were coming back from Greece where they were headlining(!) some metal show.

Roy, I would have been long gone by then. I came in on Austrian Air with about 80 other people (students and directors) late in the afternoon. Waited a loooong time for our instruments to come out and then we got the hell out of there. It was a long day.

Dee Snider spottings happen all the time. The man seems to be everywhere. I've had a Dee Snider spotting in Manhattan before.

I saw him at the shops with Dick Trickle and The Undertaker.

This morning, I saw Dinosaur Jr. (including an ancient looking, grey-but-still-long-haired J. Mascis) eating breakfast at our local breakfast hangout.
