Name that old game!

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

Sweet!

This one should be SUPER easy.

<img src="http://www.glenncase.com/guess3.gif">

Forget emulators and roms, I broke out the <b>REAL GAME SYSTEM AND CARTRIDGE</b> at a friend's house recently, and we had a <b>RIDICULOUS</b> amount of fun playing this game.

ROCK!

Yeah, from this point on: it is probably only right to post a new screenshot when you have correctly guessed a game, and the person who posted it has confirmed that you are correct.

<b>Scoreboard:

Albatross = 2
Anti-M = 1
Glenn Case = 2
Jute Gyte = 1
Niveous = 6
Sausage Boy = 2
Treachjuris = 1? (Challenged)
Weaselslayer = 1</b>

Didn't I just get one?
edit: oh, nevermind. I'm shortsighted. It says challenged.
reedit: http://images.google.fr/images?hl=en&q=qfg4&sa=N&tab=wi you'll see it in the third row. It's definitely the opening shot of the game, narrated by Gimle. It is awsome. Shadows of Darkness, all the way.

The research I am doing makes me think that you <b>DID</b> get that game right, and in doing so? Everything from Crystal Castles onward probably should not have been posted, as Monkey Island would have been an incorrect response. Should those points be redacted from my scoreboard? Possibly.

No concrete rules have really been established, but it seems like it was supposed to be "If you guess the game <b>correctly</b>, then you get to post a screenshot" (EDIT: That's more or less what Sausage Boy said when he started this thread.)
Sausage Boy wrote:I'll post a screenshot from an old game, the person who knows it and names it can then post a screenshot for an old game, and so on. ANY platform, ANY title. The obscurer the better!
If/when Jute confirms it, it would be your turn. My screenshot should be considered a bonus at this point. It's not your turn if you guess my most recent screenshot. You know... THIS one:

It's safe to say that you are correct, so get your screenshot ready. I know that we haven't really established any concrete rules to this thread (if there should be any rules for posting screenshots when you answered incorrectly/keeping of points, etc.), but we should probably give Jute the courtesy of stating that you are correct.

People who participated in this thread may not have anticipated points being kept, and rules being put into place. For that reason, I have started a seperate thread for a version of this game with points, rules, and a scoreboard for those who wish to compete in said game. Points will not be transferred from this game to the new one.

My recommended set of rules:

Glossary:

<b>POSTER</b> refers to the person who posted the screenshot
<b>CONTESTANT</b> refers to the people who are guessing which game is in the screenshot
<b>POINTS</b> are awarded for correct guesses, and taken away for violating the rules.
I will update the <b>SCOREBOARD</b> as my time permits. I am also volunteering to be the <b>REFEREE</b> in case of any in-game disagreements. I probably should not compete in the thread, as a result.

1. A <b>POSTER</b> is chosen to start the thread.
2. A video game screenshot is posted by the <b>POSTER</b>.
3. The <b>CONTESTANTS</b> guess which game it is.
4. The first <b>CONTESTANT</b> to correctly guess the game is awarded <b>1 point</b> by the <b>POSTER</b>, and becomes the new <b>POSTER</b> after a correct guess has been confirmed.
5. The <b>POSTER</b> is obligated to confirm a correct guess within 24 hours of the guess being posted. Failure to do so results in a deduction of <b>1 point</b> from the <b>POSTER</b>'s score, and the <b>REFEREE</b> will chose a new <b>POSTER</b> at his discretion.
6. Posting a screenshot when it is not your turn results in a deduction of <b>1 point</b> from your score. No points will be awarded for correctly guessed games that are out of turn
7. Since the <b>REFEREE</b> is not allowed to compete, they get to post <b>BONUS SCREENSHOTS</b> at their discretion, worth <b>1 point</b> for the first correct guess. Guessing a <b>BONUS SCREENSHOT</b> correctly does not make you the new <b>POSTER</b>

Thoughts? Suggestions? Willing to take suggestions here.

ROCK!

Heh! Yeah, see? That's how it gets when you add a bunch of un-necessary rules and points. It gets.... um.... lame.

Being that this was your thread to begin with, I was particularly interested in your input on the points/rules idea. I could be reading too much into the whole thing. Wouldn't be the first time. That's why I haven't invested much time into the other thread quite yet. Wanted to see if we could get the primary players who are interested on the same page.

ROCK!

Well, i suppose at its simplest, 1 correct guess means 1 point. The person who posts the game has to confirm the correct guess before the correct guesser gets their point and can post their screenshot.

In the event of a disagreement, we settle it Cage Match style!

I am beginning to think that you and I played the same games as kids.

For shits and giggles, (and no control of the board... I am thinking that it is going to be Egg's turn...), I bet you would know this one too, Albatross:

I thought I'd usurp this thread cos it was loads more fun than the new one even though I never managed to get any of the games anyway :oops:

anyhoo, in the spirit of disorganised free-for-all-ness, here's a game which probably contributed a lot to my current social inadequacy. This should be hella easy.
