This game was originally destined for obscurity as yet another Japanese transforming-mecha action adventure game until it got Square's attention. However it didn't really take off until the makers of Mystery House ported it to every American home computing platform and began a background saturation-marketing campaign for it, which included having it on display at every danged Radio Shack in the country.

How about this one. It's easy because it's the WORST GAME EVER MADE. If you can even call it a game.

For nonexistent bonus points, name the two working titles for it. (One is easy to find. The other one requires looking at the box art.)

Yep. The original working title (before Crush) was "Hooked Up." About half an hour before we froze our milestone build for the DS showcase conference we found out there was a trademark problem and so we had to come up with a non-infringing working title. We also needed to have some "working title" art which would completely not be confused with being actual in-game art.

You can still see a remnant of the old name on the box art (and in the game) with the picture of Erica dressed as a pimp.

Also, the funny thing is that the marketing folks decided to put almost all of the unlockable artwork RIGHT ON THE BOX, since they thought it looked more exciting than the actual gameplay screenshots. (Which, sadly, it did.)

Sorry that I haven't been around. I was doing special airport immigration training. The game was Demons To Diamonds.
