Your stuff is always great—your Systematic Panic is one my all-time favourite SF tunes. Great ending. Love you voice—first tune and I already know who I'm voting for.
Blake Walker
You've gotten better in the last—what, year and a half—since you entered SF. This is alright, but not really straying at all from the typical dance tune. I dig the falsetto, the bridge is a little weak, and not a bad chorus.
Flvxxvm Florvm
The vocals are harsh on my sensitive ears. There are some moments here, but it's not really working for me. It would benefit from some rhythm variety in the vocals.
Jeff Henderson
Everything is really quiet in this—not the overall level, but the performance. This could be a rocking song if you belted out the lyrics a bit, and the everything else was a bit more pounding.
JBB
I think my crazy neighbours are shooting at each other again. Cool little sound coming in at about half a minute. I like when everything kicks in—though the drums could you a little more ... pound. Nice tune.
Jordan Cooper
Toy piano I dig. The guitar seems a little low and light—could benefit from a bit electric guitar, but that's coming from a guy who uses it waaaay too much. This seems a bit short for what it is.
JR
I'd say you are the most improved song fighter since starting out. Nice work. Your vocals are still fairly quiet, though, and need to be sung with more energy, but I always say that.
Klownhole
Fantastic first lines. I think this is my favourite track of yours so far. Does sound like stuff is clipping in there, though, and the momentum is really lost too early but that slow break. Great vocals, but that slow part really lost me. Too bad. Is that "perfection" rhyming with "erection?" Fantastic.
Lymph
Great opening riff, but it sounds very Nirvanaesque. I'm really hoping some drums kick in soon, cuz that would sound fantastic. Really pounding drums. I actually think they're hiding back there, but they need to pound. It sounds like there's a whole mess of reverb in there too.
Mr. Man and Dr. Funk
There's a whole lot of funk missing from this track. I must admit, I like your J. Seaver tracks a lot better than this. This is good, but not grabbing me.
Paco del Stinko
This is really not working for me. Kind of cool riff, but overall I keep thinking I need to follow the words to get a punchline.
Pigpen
The bad midi and the everything else about this really makes me lose interest fast.
Rabid Garfunkel
I'm in a drum kind of mood, I guess, cuz I keep saying tracks need drums. That said, I wish this had a good beat to tie it all together. I'm also not really in the mood for this kind of noise—not right now.
Raised by Wolves
Great beat when it comes in, great little soft melody there. Great voice. Great track.
Seamus Collective
This is really not hitting me at all, though it's well done. I'd take out the faux crackle, and the vox could come up a bit, I think. I did, however, listen all the way through; nice work.
Swilington
Waaaay too long an intro; I can see how you came up with 8:05. Why didn't you just start it at 1:35? That stuff is interesting at least, though not interesting enough to sustain minutes of instrumental. I'm now skipping, can't hear the vox, now you're masturbating a bit, and we're done.
Wages
This is really one crazy mess. Voice sounds good enough, but the percussion is so distracting with its jerky rhythm that it's really tough to listen to.
Zipline
Vocals wander too much. You don't sound committed to the words, and I can't hear them because they're mixed too low. Music is nice enough.
Modern Alternatives
Singing very quietly—like there's someone in the next room. Great effect though at about :52 with the even quieter vox in my right ear. Nice.
Thanks for the Frisbee
I like that pre-chorus the most, the part about having a conversation. Sounds like Tripping Daisy, and your voice sounds best in there. Guitar's buried quite a bit.
Smalltown Mike.
Yehaw. Leaf told me the drums don't sound as fake as they are. That's the way he rolls.

Punk rock is for children. Grab a six-pack at Half-a-Dozen Records.

If only I HAD an electric guitar... believe me it would be on EVERYTHING I do. I sometimes use keyboard synth electric guitar but...well, you can imagine it has a certain cheesy sound that isn't always desired. I want an electric guitar so bad. (no $$$)
My songs are usually short. I dunno. It's just what I always do. In and out, cut the fat.

Better nate than lever. And now, some reviews...
Add Music
Like. Damn, this is nice. What's with the ending, I mean I can almost see the intent on the theme that runs through the lyrics that the winding down of the music makes, but only after many many listens.
Blake Walker
Didn't like. Solid song aside from the vox in the bridge/chorus thingy, but club-type music bores me.
Flvxxvm Florvm
Like. This is infectious. Except for the guitar solo, ugh. Vocal timing could use some work, try strumming along on your axe (that's not plugged in or making anything other than string noise) while laying down the vocal track to the music tracks. It helps.
Jeff Travis Henderson
Didn't like. Good vocal work, but the song drives icepicks into my brain.
The John Benjamin Band
Like. I second Niveous' comment. The shift to a happier chord in the bridge seems off to me, takes me out of the weird-space this song puts me in. Is that Spud's daughter (SpudNut?) counting in there? A recording/production log of this song would be interesting reading.
Johnny Cashpoint's Evil Twin
Didn't like. At least the shift from dirge to jazzy rewarded sticking it out. Dig the creaky-knocking though. Live or memorex?
Jolly Roger
Can't decide if I liked it or not. Thank god you can keep time with the shakers, that's a plus. Yay, harmonica.
Jordan Cooper
Didn't like. But the celeste is the right choice for filling out the song.
Klownhole
Like. The nonsensical rhymes with that delivery makes me happy.
Lymph
Like. Beautiful. The two samples are overkill, in my opinion. Throwing in the CB theme at the end was plenty, and a nice payoff to the surprise (which was spoiled by the vocal sample, again in my opinion). Vote.
The Modern Alternatives
Can't decide if I liked it or not. Liked the music line in the inbetween parts (the Eb F Gb F Eb B Gb phrase). The higher straight 8ths on the piano/keyboard in lieu of a drum line or whatever got pretty grating, fast.
Mr. Man and Dr. Funk
Like. With a handle like Rabid Garfunkel, how could I not? Well done.
Paco del Stinko
Like. Pro'lly the best use of the title, thematically, this fight.
PiGPEN
Wanted to like it, but didn't. Lyrics were there, music was okay, but the vocal delivery/word shapings put me in mind of an early Robert Smith auditioning for "Grease". Sorry.
Rabid Garfunkel
Didn't like. This was a comedy of errors and chaos and all around bad times. Thank you for liking it, those of you who did.
Raised by Wolves
Like. Though hoped for/anticipated a return to the vocal tone/mood of the first part after the second didn't happen. Oh well.
The Seamus Collective
Like. You've got the folky kung-fu. Though the crackles not starting until 0:23 in seems... strange (unless you're focusing really hard on the lyrical content and what's being said). Half the time I think this could be something to play at a wedding, but the other half of the time a wake.
Smalltown Mike
Like. Thank you for the rocking boot in the ass.
Swilinton
Didn't like. Goes nowhere, and does it the long way around. Did listen to the entire thing, more than once, though, trying to figure out why I didn't like it.
Thanks for the Frisbee
Didn't like. Sounded like you were having fun making it, though.
Wages
Didn't like. Drummer was following, not leading. Very stumbly song.
Zipline
Didn't like. The 808/909 drums are icepicking my brain. Way too up front in the mix.

Congrats Mr Man & Dr Funk! This was the best song IMHO. Well deserved victory!
Lunkhead, I agree with the results, my 2nd favorite of the fight was Swilington. We all know the voting isn't a perfect system, but come on it's just fun. I can think of alternative voting methods, but they're all too elaborate and probably a pain for the Fight Master, e.g. only submitters get votes and you can't vote for yourself, or you have a designated voting panel so there's always a fair shot for any entry, or every reviewer ranks every entry in order, or gives every entry a score from one to ten then the numbers are crunches from those numbers, you could have the "critical" winner and the "popular" vote. I end up caring a lot more about the review thread than the actual vote. For instance in the previous fight for "Control Yourself", it seemed you Lunkhead were the favorite, (and for good reason awesome song!)I'm going to take the opportunity to whine about a fight I wasn't in, so I won't be accused of being a sore loser. I liked the winning song, but come on, only 3 votes for JB? And Swilington in second? WTF... Ok, whining over.
