Hello. Yeah, it's been a while, but unfortunately I will be delayed a bit longer. I had to dock a little ways up the coast due to some unexpectedly choppy seas last week. Hopefully after a few repairs, I'll be out on the water with the wind in my sails for a smooth voyage back to the harbor. So, as much as I had been thinking each day since Friday that I'd really love to see you tonight, it will have to be sometime later this week.
My apologies for the delay. And the above.

I am anxiously awaiting some free time to finish the cover we're working on, especially since Glenn got this sidefight mentioned on the blog of Koko's ghost:

I have now expressed my thanks to the ghost of the great Koko Goldstein. His approval of this project makes the whole venture worthwhile.
ROCK!

A Yacht out of water
So, I go to this downtown gym to swim. The women's changing room is right next to the aerobics room and you can hear the music coming through the walls. Tonight there was a step class going on, and as the Hi-NRG music thumped away, my ears perked up at a familiar strain.... I struggled momentarily to comprehend the strange juxtaposition of a beloved voice rising over the 200bpm din....Yes! it was our beloved Mr. McDonald. Yes, Virginia, there is an aerobics-ready dance mix of "What a Fool Believes." I haven't been this happy since I discovered the Bollywood version of "Karma Chameleon"!!!
I couldn't find it online, but i DID find this one!

The mixdown may not be perfect, but I have to share this with you guys tonight, because I am blown away with how good Chris did the vocals for this.

*Hi-5 indeed!*prayformojo wrote:Youre guitar and bass are the highlight. I could have done better in a few spots. Either way, I'm pretty proud of it!
Hi-5!
Also: Are you kidding me?!?! These vocals are so good that it makes my vocals from all of my other Yacht Rock covers sound like ass to my ears in comparison. I am half-tempted to re-record all of my vocals as a direct result of this recording. I like it that much.
We teamed up good on this one, mojo man. Seriously, I can't stop listening to it. Of course, I need to soon, so I can sleep...
First of all, thank you. Secondly: hmmm... not sure if it would really count as a Team Seahorse song, because it's just two of us. I am actually thinking about snagging Christopher Case at Myspace if it doesn't already exist though...Lunkhead wrote:Wow... awesome guys, nice work.
EDIT: Maybe that should go on the Team Seahorse MySpace profile?
(EDIT: It didn't exist, but it <a href="http://www.myspace.com/christophercase">does now.</a>)
ROCK!

I have a lot of favs, but I'd just like to say: Jim Tyrrell! Well done!
Ah, growing up in California in the late 70s... Corvettes and roller skates... rocking out to "Him!"...(I remember that song actually getting a lot of airplay!) Your opening notes take me right back!
There are a lot of big names in YR, but overlooked Rupert Holmes is the essence of Yacht. Is there any other music scene in which he could have possibly survived?
(Actually, I'll bet he'd be a hell of a Songfighter...)

"Evil" is simply a disclaimer.

Word up! I'm loving this.jimtyrrell wrote:Rinkydink: I loved your version of Can't Smile Without You for the BarryFight, but your Baker Street eclipses it easily. This is glorious. I'm listening to it again right now, with newborn Sean. He likes it too!
