There are some pretty good series from The National Association of Record Industry Professionals. One this Thursday in NYC is about Webcasts, Downloads & Ringtones - An Overview of the Legal & Practical Aspects of the NEW Recording Industry. I think there's also an LA session coming up. (http://www.narip.com/index.php?page=events&id=76)

This is an industry association (read: the devil), but it's a great way to learn how these things work in the current situation. I've attended a number of their sessions.
