Favorite SF song that YOU have done.
Sorry if this has been done recently.
It's pretty simple, everyone reply and post the song that you believe is the best SF song you have done.
This isn't your best song in votes, or reviews. This is what you personally loved the best out of your SF songs so far. Also link us to your song in the archive (Hope that is okie). Mine is Robot Baby. You can hear it at http://www.songfight.org/music/robot_ba ... ale_rb.mp3 The intro music is great and the roneing is pretty much on the pattern it's supposed to be on.
Looking forward to hearing your picks guys, so get involved!

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

Someone in the "What are you listening to now" thread once mentioned that they listen to their own songs a lot and most people chimed in and said "me too". I come and go, listening to my collection for a while and then burning out on it like any other.
Lately I feel my Twenty One is one of the most complete, thought-out and hell, mature songs I've written around here. But this is a rotating list.

Roymond, your Twenty-One is in my iTunes collection and comes up on random play sometimes. That's a good one.
My favorite song of my own is probably my "Hold My Calls".

Um. Songfight: Gallows Hill (bloodberries & cream). That chorused guitar line is the best thing I've ever written, and everything else in the song works with it.
Non-songfight: Another Love Song, although probably part of that's cause it's one of my more recent, and I tend to prefer those. Still, I love that squeely arpeggiated synth sound, the drums came out just how I wanted, and I tried out some different vocal stuff that I think worked out pretty well.

My non-Songfight stuff always ends up being better than my songfight stuff. I think I just work better with my own titles and ideas, and also without the knowledge that it will be subject to reviews and votes.
I think I like my Welcome to _____ most of all my SF songs. It's weird and fun and sorta depressed. I like that combination in a song. I also think the chorus is pretty catchy. It only got one vote, so whatever. That's normal for me.

I'd have to say my Livin' At The Corner Of Dude And Catastrophe entry. I really put a lot into the writing and Paco tore it up with his lead solos. It really got eclipsed by the whole front-a-lot happenings I think, but he did deserve the win regardless.
I'd like to re-record my D&C song someday when I get better at recording and mastering. I think it has a ton of potential to be a really great song if I put some time into it.

My newest song is always my favorite, so right now it is Glutton. However, I always have had a certain liking for my Ignorance is Bliss entry (not the mixing ... the song itself). This is an interesting thread.

Ellis Island by X-Tokyo-River-God holds a special place in my heart. For years at Songfight, I heard all sorts of negative comments about my production (somethig I admit is a work in progress). Ellis Island was my first song where I didn't hear that.

I was thinking about this, and I'm not sure, probably either Soft Orange Glow or Rattle.
As far as collaborations, I better go back and listen again, but definitely one of the DB&tI tunes.

I think my favorite Starfinger entry is <a href="http://kongbalong.com/blog/2005/07/22/twin-kiss/">Twin Kiss</a>
I made it in my parent's dining room while I was on vacation.
I'm also quite proud of the music to my <a href="http://kongbalong.com/blog/2004/10/20/i ... gplant/">i dont like eggplant</a>, but the lyrics are dumb.

I listened to some of the songs in your links in your sig, it sounds like you really have a good time with your sounds, rock on starfinger.
If I ever decide to add effects to a song, I'm coming to you for advice.

Tough question, really. My overall favorite Sven Mullet entry would have to be "Step Up", with "I Thought I Loved You" in a close second place (and apparently other people liked it too, because I won. by one vote)
My "Feet" entry, I really loved the music and concept of the song itself, but I don't like my vocals on it. Might have to redo that one of these days. Like, after I actually start recording music again after a 1 year hiatus or however long it's been.
My favorite collaboration was with Plat, as Van Pelts, for "Peppermint Patty". That kid can sing, man.

My favorite Hell Yeahs song by far is our most recent, Outside Paradise. I love them all (except maybe Spirit World). My favorite GOM/Hxaro songs are Charlotte Sometimes and Too Goth to Rock. And of course there's my all time favorite sidefight The One. I know that's more than one favorite, but whaddaya gonna do?
Out of the two SF songs I've done, the second one wins, just because I managed to finish it before it had to be submitted. Also, the lyrics weren't a horribly contrived attempt at metaphor.
In related news, I lose at songfighting.

I think my favorite Song Fight entry is Repair My Heart, the original version (not the plus+5 version).

But I will say, by the time I'm done recording, mixing down, critiquing and remixing a song fight entry, I am so ready to hear the other entries. But I wouldn't record a song if I didn't feel it and love it.

Buggered if I know, but somewhere along the line I'd got the impression that most people don't listen to their own stuff that much. Granted that doesn't make a lot of sense, but there's a lot of stuff that goes on around here that makes no sense to me, so I've kinda come to just accept stuff like that.fluffy wrote: Why would someone write music that they themselves wouldn't like listening to?
