To all the MCs and DJs apparently entering songs this week:

I implore you, can this please be a fair fight with no friend flooding?

Thank you.

Yes, I am employing them to make sure there's a fair fight this time around... we'll see! :?

I'm looking forward to hearing the Hell Yeahs, friend flooding or not.
I really wish there was a point system that took friend flooding out of the equation. They can put a man on the moon, but.........
Any thoughts, post them here, but I'm sure if there was a better way, the Admins would have already tried it.

i don't understand this post. why are MCs and DJs more likely to get friend votes than bands?

Haha, that's ok. I had a feeling my post would upset those it was directed to.

Votes are one thing, friend floods are another. I'm not gonna argue, I just want to be involved in an honest fight for once.

i'm not upset, just curious. i don't see why a DJ or MC is more likely to tell all his friends to go on and vote for him than a member of a band is.

Howz about because middle aged guitarist, and geeky keyboardists would like the vote the reflect thier ability to create a good song. But chavs and wiggers just want it appear cool. I believe in the venacular it is called "represent yo!"

Im old and cranky :)

i see, so it's a distrust of blacks and those that embrace black culture that lead you to say that.

i think you might be songfight's first black rapper, so, in this context.. it's a distrust of asshole teenage weenies, not blacks.

maybe. but is he distrusting them because they're asshole teenage weenies who care about e-rep (perfectly reasonable) or because they're "chavs and wiggers"

Nerds don't have a lot of friends. They just have that one extra nerdy friend that knows how to change his IP address every time he hits the vote button.

I tried to change my IP once by taking my laptop from my living room to my kitchen. But I think my fancy popcorn maker (can't think of what it's called) sent out some microwaves and f**ked up my brilliant plan.

Hi, my entry has been sent in.

My track record speaks for itself.

Good luck all!

FLVXXVM FLORVM is in. Woe be unto ye who expect rational spelling of band names!

I went ahead and went with my first lyrical impression of "Couldn't Be Worse" rather than "Couldn't Have Been Worse". That might lose me some votes right there, but this is probably going to be such a great fight that I'm glad just to have a dog in it.

No worries about friend-flooding from me. I don't have too many people to flood with anyway, and the ones I do have won't do it even if I ask them to.

My entry could be described as the Chipmunks meet the Eagles. In Hell.

I'm having major computer freezing issues. I have a song that's done, but needs the final mix and my computer sucks ass. I hope I make the deadline.

Re: names

impulse wrote:DJ Big Dick - My real name is Eric Borgos, so that is how I came up with MC Eric B. As far as I know, the original Eric B. has not released any songs in over 10 years, and does not sound anything like me, so I don't think there is much risk of confusion.
When Yogi Berra tried to sue the Hanna-Barbera cartoon company for naming Yogi Bear after him, their defense was something like "he's a bear, and he doesn't play baseball. No confusion there!".
