This may be the new best collection of 24 songs I've heard on SongFight. I have no idea which way the judges will go.

If were up to me Thank Glennny for the Frisbee would make the cut, but I have no idea where to rank us. Otherwise here's my top 19

1. Paco Del Stinko- I can't believe you made me love a song about dancing.

2. Frankie Big Face- This makes me want to go listen to Sci-Fi Lullibies. Suede fan?

Tough job to cut any of these, unfortunately I'd let go of:

21. MK- Started off great, but then wimped out with the "unique New York" bit. The riff is great, very Modest Mouse.

21. Lostman- Not a bad song, tough crowd. Seems a little phoned in. I don't like the lead guitar playing.

21. Ice 9- Again, not bad, competition is high. The melody is a little weak to me. Music is not interesting enough to save it.

21. Sausage Boy- This is the one song I'm actually not really in to.

It's German of course, and there's no English equivalent. Basically it's a chess term that means "the compulsion to move".

Whatever. You guys go together like Timberlake and Timbaland!

I think (as many apparently do) that we deserve at least one more week. There are three songs in this fight I can't even listen to more than once and a couple more that, while well done, aren't all that interesting. There are a lot of very talented musicians here and I think sometimes a production-perfect mediocre song immediately is liked over a poorly produced gem. I would not have Kellis anywhere near bottom five in this one. There were a couple that sparkled with squeaky clean production and technically well played instruments that maybe weren't the most inventive "songs".

I find it very hard to imagine I would survive round Two, if I were to make it that far, but I personally think we were good enough to pass this one.

Ah, chess terms. Love 'em. My son just started playing (yes the 7 year old has a desire to play chess everyday) and I love the terminology. Zugzwang. Alekhine's Gun. Zwischenzug. Desperado pieces. Greek Gift Sacrifice. X-Ray Attack! Only prowrestling has a better set of crazy manuever names.

Back on topic, sort of: There's at least a dozen songs in this fight that deserve to be in the top five. I thought that the alliteration requirement was going to produce a lot of really grating lyrics (I tried to make the instnaces of this as understated as I could in my own submission), but the results aren't so bad, by and large. Nice work, gang.

Funny that you say that. I had so many alliterations on my first pass, that as I listened to it through my headphones, I was rolling my eyes because it was so hokey and killed my double meaning words/story. So I left my "important" story words, and changed the phrasing until it had my original meaning. I made this decision the day before the due time, so basically I rerecord the main vocals when I should have been working on production and such.

By the way Jim, you really took me by surprise this week. You rocked your shiz! I was repeating it last night. Cool song and it honestly sounds like part one of my story this week if it was ever made into a movie, lol. Also, there are several that could be part 3, 4, and so on. We could make a movie about Crystal Cocaine that goes into the sister hood, then God speaks to her and tells her that she must go from the pew to the pole to wow the world with her beautiful biblical breasts!
But I'll have to put my foot down that the part of Crystal Cocaine is played by Reese Witherspoon and God is played by Bill Clinton.
.....oh, and Jay and Silent Bob have to be in there somewhere with a cameo from Jack Black and Kyle.

Funny, I still have no idea if there's enough alliteration in my entry. I think so, but my opinion doesn't count for much there

The wonderful bitch of the challenge was making it not stand out like a sore tooth. For the most part, yeah, we all hit that mark pretty well.

±24.5 hours to the next round. And seeing if my consistent low-end-of-the-scale rating (except you, Tex :-* ) by my fellow fighters is a harbinger of the next round's fun.

Jim Tyrell & WreckdoM, y'all are both breaths of fresh air. Though Albatross is rolling in 'da Stink, this round.

Okay guys, I'm amazed... also I hate the idea of saying who I'd keep and who I'd lose, that's really harsh y'know, 'cause in regular songfights you can slate a guy, but pretty much know he'll be back next week, in this if you say hey that songs not as good as the other songs then the judging comes along and maybe just maybe you've got it kinda right, then shit, dude's not back next week, ... doh! that's the whole point!!

I'm assuming however that you are the female from Merisan? Yes, you are the only female Nur Einer this year. Though if you look around the boards you'll find there aren't many lady Song Fighters period.

I feel a little bit like I should try hard to stay in just to represent my fellow lady Songfighters...not that I'm getting any support from them so far.....(Ahem)...but really, I'm in it for my own love of Songfight!

I'm glad Merisan is in. More Lunkhead and Erin! Your performance of Violet at SF05 in Boston was gorgeous. And Loyalty Day's "Crossroads" is still a favorite of mine.

I think you'll do well. Being a lady with a decent set of pipes goes a long way around here. It's a refreshing sound we don't hear all that often in the regular fights

Last week you had a Frente! vibe going. This week's song almost has a Bangles feel to it. I love both by the way.

Incidentally, I swear Tex's song last week was ripping off Bangles' "Different Light".
