There is a bunch of cool stuff here. I used the Reverse Delay quite a bit for a while.

My days producing audio for IT Conversations turned me on to a great tool for podcasts. The Levelator will balance the levels of different speakers during interviews or panel discussions. It will normalize the overall audio file for a strong sound. Anyway, test it out and make things better with less fuss!

Reaper is in version 2 now, and it's my main app. I recommend it to anyone looking for a new multitracker. http://reaper.fm
I also recommend you add Poise to your Reaper setup. It's a free VSTi drum sampler. Like Battery.

That URL for Poise is information-free, so here's a thread where people talk about it: http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?p=118321

BoingBoing linked to this guy because he made a synth based on the Commodore 64. But there's a ton of other stuff too. He seems to have a thing for randomization.

You bastard. Now if I have sucky drums in my songs, I can't plead poverty (because this shit is free) or ignorance (because you told me about it).Jefff wrote:Reaper is in version 2 now, and it's my main app. I recommend it to anyone looking for a new multitracker. http://reaper.fm

Not a plugin, but if anyone needs to feed their sampler with some bass sounds, this is probably worth your attention.

A couple of guitar overdrive/distortion plugins here:
http://www.bteaudio.com/products/index.html
Found by following links from that wiki that we censored for talking about around here.
I have not had an opportunity to actually try these myself.

A nice free VST SoundFont player if the popular SFZ doesn't work for you: VSTSynthFont.
Its advantage over similar plugins is that by loading one big multi-instrument soundfont file you can use it in up to 16 channels. So you don't need to reload the whole orchestra file for every single-instrument channel you use. This can save a whole lot of RAM.
I believe this is what they call "single-file multitimbral operation" on the SFZ/Cakewalk page.
