This is way liberally translated, as I don't actually speak Dutch. The parts in parentheses can be labelled "guessing" at best, but I think I'm pretty close. In meaning, if not literally.

It's amazing how much like German that looks. Actually your translation is pretty seemingly accurate. To somebody else that doesn't speak Dutch, anyway
