Even worse, now they're claiming that you're not even allowed to make copies for your own personal use, or for backup purposes:
Gabriel asked if it was wrong for consumers to make copies of music which they have purchased, even just one copy. Pariser replied, "When an individual makes a copy of a song for himself, I suppose we can say he stole a song." Making "a copy" of a purchased song is just "a nice way of saying 'steals just one copy'," she said.

Ridiculous. Somebody has to smack these weenies down.

I've got it, thanks. And yeah it's gay but the gayness is just part of the rebelliousness and transgressiveness. Plus, I first experienced it as "hey, cool, Captain Sensible wrote dirty English lyrics for Ca Plane Pour Moi"

I once tried to convince Mo that sos should cover this. In response he quit the band and moved to another continent. Well, I'm sure he'll claim that this wasn't really the reason, but I can see right through him.

you can only see through me because of that infernal invisibility potion.

When is the due date for the final list? I hate to do it, but I think I may have to give Ben Folds the axe.

I'm in. I tried to pick a variety of styles, that can be covered in all kinds of ways.

1- Stabbing Westward - Nothing

2- Supertreamp - The Logical Song

3- Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark

4- Talking Heads - Wild Wild Life

ENJOY & HAPPY GOM

and try not to piss me off by being late and stuff this year...

Hey there GoMers,

it is official, Soul Tree Records will be hosting the GoM again and in a big way. For the first time in the event's 5 year history, all songs will be hosted by STR.

Also, the best song will earn 100 bucks, furnished by STR. Second place will get some other swag as well. And if anyone else would like to add some other prizes into the mix, PM Eddiebangs.

When is the deadline for this? It's hard to say whether I/PB/whatever can participate without knowing.

The GoM will be all over by sometime in Early January. Maybe around the second week. Nothing is set in stone though.

Let's keep clear of SF Live NYC :)
Make it Jan 8 or something (before the new title goes up for SFL)?
