I could probably make my garage available.
Is your garage air conditioned?
It is not. Also, I have been rehearsing there a bit, and we probably want to minimize it for the neighbors' sake. Maybe a few hours in the middle of the day Thursday. And then we should have all day Friday and Saturday at the theater. Not sure the exact hours yet.
I’ve been checking my weather app. Seems a bit warm over there? I expect daytime warm - but Denver is 1000m higher than Toowoomba. But It seems to be still warm at night?

Can I leave my Iceland fleecy gear at home?

I have cleared it with the near neighbors, especially the ones with small children, so practice on Thursday is fine as is a little bit of Friday or Saturday during the day, should we need the second location.

Unless you plan to go up to the mountains, pack the shorts and show off those sweet, winter dad legs. You can expect it to be hot during the day and cool off 20° or so at night. You might want to bring a hoodie and maybe one pair of pants just in case it rains. It’s a dry heat, though, not a humid heat; plan to drink a lot of water.

How's the lineup looking now?
I hear there's Yaks, Geech, and Caravan Ray to be added. Anyone else?
What hours of the day can we be there?
When do things start etc.
All the people you mentioned are accounted for in my current lineup sketch.

I’m doing a walk-through at the venue this week with our sound guy for Friday — my friend who is also loaning us a bunch of his equipment, including a full drum kit, amps, a second guitar, and setting up our entire back line.

We are finalizing the lineup — plus our start and end times — after that as we are especially trying to minimize the instrument/sound changes between sets since we have so many people performing. I’m still figuring out a human to run sound for Saturday.

As of right now, I’m planning on starting at 5 though…

There will be a pay-what-you-can snack bar also with beer and wine and nonalcoholic drinks. A request form is going out soon to the people who are listed as attending.

Regarding when we can be there, it is our space all day and night, but, again, I need to figure out load-in (and any help we might need) after the walk-through since Kirk is providing a lot of equipment. Then I can tell you how early we can host practice on Friday. A different practice sign-up sheet will come around as well.

…great answers….
Wow. I think I can speak on behalf on all attendees (some who may have a touch of the OCD) - there is some top level organisation going on here in some very reliable looking hands. Much appreciated.

Good job!!

Looking forward to the trip!

Woohoo. This is exciting. Thanks for all the great answers, Leah. I know making a show like this work is a lot of work.

I dig the lineup and will likely be solo, though I may lean on a couple friends here and there. Always happy with a Friday slot, so I can play on others' sets without my own looming...LLLLOOOOMMMIIINNNGGG over my head.

Also, I'm available for helping with load-in Friday morning, or whenever. Leah & Jefff...awesome prep work. Thank you!

If you've got people flying in from Australia to attend, well fucking done. FOMO. :O
And if they'll do this for Denver, imagine what they'd do for beautiful Santa Cruz again.
ha thanks! I can always be convinced to run it back again.

By my count, 8 different "artists" from this year played in Santa Cruz in 2006 (you, JB, Fluffy, Future Boy, Ken, Caravan Ray, Spud, and Sam).

While I read that there may already be one there, I can confirm that my Line 6 POD Go will be there with me for anyone to use either night.

ha how could I forget you!? But you didn't perform did you? I know you're on the poster but for some reason I thought you couldn't make it.

Also, the Tampa SFL you tossed was also big fun. Staying up almost all night drinking that killer wine from France! I was so hungover the next morning for the flight back to San Francisco.

I couldn't get the time off work for the Santa Cruz fight and wasn't sure I could make it. But... I ended up doing it last-minute anyway.

While I can't remember it all exactly, I know I was squeezed in, if not for just one song.

So you're definitely not crazy, Jack.

And Fluffy, while I still eat a lot of ketchup, it's far less now... like way less...significantly less ketchup these days.

I'd forgotten about the ketchup, I mostly remember feeling super sick from the crab and/or stage fright and spending the first hour of the show puking in the bathroom.

ha I do remember you not feeling well and having some performance anxiety out back in the parking lot but you did great and it was fun playing with you and Spud and Ken in King Arthur's band.

Do you usually bring your own power strip to plug all your components into so that your setup just requires one outlet? Or would you need a power strip provided?

Sounds like you might need a MIDI keyboard and if so there is one. Otherwise sounds like you need an XLR cable and a free channel on the house mixer, to plug your DI box into the house mixer?
Hi, sorry for the delay in answering. Yes, I will have my own small power strip. The chord on it is pretty short though (3 feet, I think). We are driving there, so I am just bringing my own keyboard. I feel more comfortable with my own gear and we are making a vacation out of the trip. I have my own direct box, so I will just need to plug in an XLR cable.

Is there space on stage for me to be able to set up the keyboard Saturday and leave it until it is time for BSS to play?

Thanks - Paul

Probably. Leah's looking at the space and sound system today, but I seem to remember it being a pretty big stage. If you just want to use the Casiotone I'm providing as your keyboard and hook up the MIDI unit when you're on, then it will definitely be up there all night.

This is the keyboard that we'll have. (No wireless MIDI unit or sustain pedal.) https://www.casio.com/us/electronic-mus ... .CTS1RDBT/

It does! And I just learned from Leah’s email that marijuana is legal in Colorado!! I didn’t know that!!

But I can’t have any because I am not a citizen. (I’m not a fan anyway - so that is all good). But - sounds like a party state!!!!
