Yup, I didn't think you'd know it.

er, ZX spectrum. I thought spectrum was MSX, but Google tells me I'm wrong.

I always get those crappy British computers confused. ;)

Back to the game at hand. After extensive study of a system I didn't even know existed, the answer is "The Quest For the Rings" on the Magnavox Odyssey. (Please note Niv's age when the game was released- 4)

Co-wrecked!

The Odyssey2, specifically. Our household actually had the original Odyssey as well, which came out in the early 70's. Those games came with semi-transparent overlays that you put over your TV screen.

Anyway, score one for the demon offspring.

I figured it was for a Magnavox system based on that hint but I couldn't find any decent canonical Odyssey2 game lists or screenshot repositories.

Aw crap that looks really familiar. It's not something based on Journey to the Center of the Earth, is it?

Nope

Wow...a stumper?

Okay a hint...

This game comes from the company that brought us the story of a somewhat incestuous brother & sister fighting their dad in space; with help from the company that produced the greatest hackysack videogame ever.

The Eidolon?

That's correct.

The child of Lucas Arts & Epyx, the Eidolon.

Are you referring to X-Wing Alliance? I loved that game dearly.

But they were trying to FIND their Dad, not fight him. It was their uncle that ended up turning on them.

Don't mean to nitpick, I just wanna make sure I know what game you were referring to.

I was referring to Star Wars. Luke, Leia, creepy kisses for good luck, Darth Vader....

This one was released under three different names, thus tripling your chances of successful guessing. For bonus points*, name all three!

Personally I thought the C64 version was awesomest (just in terms of sheer "pushing the hardware past its capabilities"-ness) but I couldn't find any screenshots of it for some reason.

I suggest a new rule- if 4 hours pass and the panel is stumped, you should give a clue.

It's hard to tell if people are stumped if nobody posts anything to that effect.

Clue 1: Yin, yang, and rubber bands.

I'm still in the land of the question marks.

To me those screenshots look like Logo.
