Oh yeah, still havn't got my plane tickets. I held off because of money timing issues, then a friend mentioned wanting to drive up there but later clammed up about it....
I'm still coming I just gotta wait one more week for plane tickets. I'll keep my eye out for a deal...it's always cheap to fly between these two cities.

That's soon enough that if I do end up changing jobs, that would be in the interim, but it might also still be really bad timing in terms of when I move and so on. Why do important things have to all happen at the same time?

I'm excited to hear where the venue is so we can figure out how far the hotel is from it. Is it seriously only 6 weeks? I'm super excited to see you crazy cats.
Should we start a "Who's for sure going and is willing to help out on other people's sets" thread? Similar to
thisthread. Organizing and whatnot. Maybe. I need me some harmonizers/sexy backing singers.

Still working on the venue. But suffice to say that there will not be a hotel within walking distance-- that's just not how the town's set up. Good thing is that the subway goes to all the tourist locations, and cabs are readily available-- once you get to a neighborhood, you're basically set for whatever you want to do.
See my previous advice on hotels. You can ask Frankie where he's staying-- I believe it's near the baseball stadium.
Don't worry too much about getting around-- teamwork will make sure you're covered!

I know I keep bringing this up... but how are we on equipment. As this will determine whether I rent a car or buy plane tickets at this point. I ask again because of the venue situation. If we find a back yard to play in (or even practice in) I could haul my PA, guitar rig, bass rig, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, microphones, mixing board... yadda yadda. But if I buy plane tickets....
I have everything for a working band except drums.

Hey hoblit, I’ll be renting a car myself that week. So if you need to take the gear or save money on plane tickets and just help out with gas money, it’s cool with me.
ROAD TRIP!!!
Almost a month away, and still no BUZZ ?

Yeah, I had mentioned an idea like this some time ago. I would love to do this. PM me your itinerary...like what time/day you'd like to leave and time/day you'd like to drive back. I could definitely chip in for gas and even drive time if so needed.

Does this have a 'tag' yet? Y'know, like Plain and Tall, Wet and Wild, Sox and Rock, High and Dry... I don't know much about Atlanta. Wiki tells me that just east of the city is the world's largest piece of exposed granite.
Hot damn. But I don't think that would make a very good tag. Not quite snappy enough.
Also, should the
SFL page get updated? Maybe with a new 'registration' kinda thing?
A month away! Whee.

We just got done watching Ep 8 (?) of the Civil War documentary in which Sherman takes Atlanta... so I submit: Shells and Belles.
It's bad.

Now officially a month away. :/ I agree with Frankie.
Anyway, my attendance is now less than likely due to stueym's work stuff(contracts vs internet people). But we shall see.
