I'm a couple of months late. Forgive me.

Bullseye Girl (Octothorpe Cover)

That was take seventeen. I should've done some more but my fingers hurt. I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't post things that aren't most excellent but I have again been lulled into doing so. I'm sorry.

Awesome stuff Marcus!

Anyway, not a new song but instead a little annoucement. After almost 6 months of being ignored, Tri-State-Area has gotten some reviews and has reached the #2 spot in the Top Punk Songs of All Time chart on www.newgrounds.com! Wooo hooo!

It may not be in the #2 spot for long, but it looks pretty cool where it is right now.

By the way, this would be the better-sounding re-done version of Tri-State Area - not the origonal SongFight! track. Now, lean back and bask with me in the bliss of accomplishment. Ahhhhhhh.

i've posted this on the collab boards, but just to reach a slightly wider audience:

ex lugduno

...is a little e.p. i'm giving to my friends as a souvenir of this long sojourn in lyon. one week from today and i'll be back home in the land of greasy french fries and cars larger than some military trasnports.

once again, thanks to heuristics inc. and j$ for their production help!

nyjim -

links for songs #3 and #6 aren't working.

Is #3 the same as the Noah M. "everybody now" on songfight?

On #6, I think there's just a typo in what the link actually points to ("lesspoupirs.mp3")

Thanks,
Charles

details, details...

okie, take two. (note to self, never update your website at 2:00 a.m.)

anyway, bill, no, more, comma. ;-)

charles, thanks for the heads-up. just typos: fixed 'em and the links are now functioning.

enjoy

No, it's a version that I produced... it's got some of the HInc sound in it.

I am very excited to announce that I wrote & recorded a song that had nothing to do with songfight for a change. I was going to try to do an album-a-day, but ended up spending the whole day on this song. Check it out here- MY TIME

(it is also posted over at somesongs - I guess I'm just a song-slut)

this rocks out something fierce! fantastic.

the only thing i would perhaps suggest is a little quiet part (not even a bridge, just like 4-8 bars) that then slams back into the loud riff, just to give the listener a little breather and to create more of a dynamic. something like that and this song wold go from 9 to 11.

Trent Reznor recently released the source tracks for the Nine Inch Nails song "The Hand That Feeds". I remixed it this morning. You can check it out here if you are interested.

very cool. have you seen the remix contest? there is some awesome stuff people have made.

i'm looking forward to what folks make of "only". and i think this is a fascinating way to promote your songs. wouldn't it be cool if this were the future of popular music promotion? a real democratisation of the process, i think.

yeah, i've been hearing that lately, too. i will probably get around to it soon enough. i've got a half-finished ochmoneks demo in the batter's box right now...

the divorce will see some songfight! action, although no guarantees for anytime before august. it will be good to be back...i'd like to at least start actively listening and voting in the near future.

btw, we have an ochmoneks live dvd of our last show with decent quality audio and video. if you'd like a copy, pm me, and if you send me a blank, i'll copy it and send it back to you for free. this goes for anyone.

so i entered the new nin remix contest; i guess the winners will have their remixes officially printed up. i'm currently in seventh place (out of like 750!!), and if you'd like to listen and vote and sing my praises or rip me a new one, go for it.

two new songs have been posted by the band i recently join, the 8mm fuzz.

free music is good

i recorded them at school on an ssl console to 2" tape with many, many expensive mics. that said, i despise my mixes.

de rien. this is quite good in the way that you've understated the music from the original mix. however, i would really like to see some more dynamism in the mix. You've done effectively nothing with the vox (a little reverb, i think); how about some break-down/break-up of that, just focusing on bits of trent's melody? i would really like to see some more swell in the verses, so that low, throbbing way you've mixed the chorus stands out some more.

bon travail de toute facon...
