Add my congratulations to those already expressed Glenn, even though Heather got my vote. Keep up the good work all.

I'm an unbiased listener who has no stake in any of this and I just have to say, and while Def Author's song is highly creative, (I especially admire the way the rhythm and melody instruments integrate with the nintendo music) I just can't believe that this is the winner. I can't believe that Deshead and the Hellyeahs were beat by this.

There just nothing pleasing to the ear about super mario brothers clips and sped up vocals. Quite frankly, if I had to listen to more than half of Def Author again, I would go completely insane. Funny, yes. A good "song"? This head says "hell no".

I know, it seems a little arbitrary. But actually there are some pretty hard-and-fast rules as to what constitues a good song. In order:

1) Anything by Josh
2) Nerdcore (folks love their Frontalot)
3) Anything with a female singer (esp. those aged 8.)
4) Witty double entendres

The perfect song would have all 4.

I knew there was a good explanation to all of this. And I do understand the number one rule: THE PEOPLE DECIDE. And they have spoken. Shucks. The good thing about all this is that I can still listen to Deshead and the Hell Yeahs.

Congrats, Glenn and Kudos to the Hell Yeahs and Deshead.

As for the "rules" for a perfect song, has Josh ever done nerdcore???

Here is a list of little-known facts:

1. The song that gets the most votes is the winner.
2. People other than yourself also get to vote.
3. Not everyone has the same tastes as you.

It should not be hard to believe that sometimes a song will win that you did not like. Most weeks, more people vote for "something other than X" than vote for "X".

Get used to disappointment.

Let it be known before this thread dies out that Karl's Mom & the Delicate Flowers, reunited for about a week, decided then to create a tribute song for WreckdoM. It's not hard to guess which song that was. We're very proud of it.

Wow, oh wow, that is the biggest compliment of all, ever. Thanks guys, that really really made my day. For like the first time in months I did not listen to the fight we weren't involved in, so naturally the one time I don't...
But really, that song is awesome and I am frankly overwhelmed. Seriously. THANK YOU. sniff.

Now I'm thinking we should do another collab. Perhaps for JoS's longfight challenge?

Cool, like, I didn't realize that...hey your voice sounds a lot like the Def Author's voice. Are you guys the same guy? Looking forward to hearing your next song, very innovative. Would make a great South Park soundtrack.

*laughs hysterically*

LEAF! You are a funny man.

I really make no efforts to hide this fact:

I am the Def Author.

No, really... I am.

I even took a <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/content/p ... picture</a> last night, inspired by my winning entry. Actually, I was interviewed recently for a website, and they wanted a photo. So, that was the main reason for actually going through with the picture. I will post a link to the interview when it is up.

If you browse through the directories of my website, or do research on the boards, you would probably also see that I am at least partially responsible for the following songfight entrants:

Abbott Presley
Baby In The Corner
Basket Robbers
Chuck the Bear
Def Author
Dreamy Mo and the Commoners
Drink Drank Drunk (bass/backup vox)
Elite Inner Echelon Blood Circle (with Ken and Fluffy)
Explino! (with Ken)
Frontalittle Squad (beat creator/rapper)
Glenn Case
Glenn and Rachael
Government Cheese
Insects Ahead (with Jack)
Krispy Kremes (with Jack)
Mojack (bass)
Rachael Layne (music)
tripped

You get the idea, there have been others... but I am drawing a blank on them at present.

ROCK!
