I don't even want to know how your balls got red.
Agonizing over my mix. Trying to convince myself it doesn't matter THAT much, but wanting to get it as right as I can.

Song sent - I think I sent it to the right address and named it right and everything. That won't DSQ me will it? I put the whole title since it's a single word, like with Songfight! proper.
Nur Ein!
well, 20 for now.

It amazes me that since I'm not in this battle royale, I actually found the time to record not one, but three different versions of the song I wrote for Sleepwalking.
They're all crappy, of course, and "finding time" is a bit misleading considering it's 2:50am local time, but two out of three have a musical crescendo, and that's good enough for me. Besides, I do a surprisingly good Tom Waits impression on one of them.
I will not post my three until all submissions are posted, though. Perhaps I will start a 'Nein' thread for people like me who are just chasing the train but can't get on.

What a weird day.
I'm back from the Dream Theater concert (it's about 5 am here - I haven't slept a wink). The song's in, and I'm going to bed. gnight.
ps - the mix ain't perfect, and there's some pisspoor vocals in there, but I just don't have the time or energy to do this right now.
pps - the concert was mind-numbingly awesome.

Well.
I don't think I'll say "I'm done" as much "I give up."
Here are some facts about my song:
• It's kind of co-written by Gustav Mahler.
• My guest musicians are Georg Solti and the Chicago Symphony.
• It is over six minutes long.
• It is a grand idea but poorly executed.
• You will probably not like it.
• You will probably hate it.
Now I'm off to NYC for the second time this week. Yay!

Love the idea of a 'Nein' thread Minty, as you may or may not know I'm one of the judges this year, but during all the round zero shenanegans, I suggested that I might throw in the judging and enter the competition just to get the numbers up, very briefly I thought this, I must add, one of those 'knee-jerk' reactions that we all occasionally fall prey to, but I followed the idea through in my mind and the next day created this ubelieveably poor track entitled
'Kick Start'
I know it's crap, but it was just a momentary idea that I just had too fulfil...

Wow I've just sent mine, this has been an amazing excersize in how to make a song worse by fiddling too much with it. It's ok but i re-recorded the whole thing, changed the tempo and the key and the arrangement for the chorus and I'm still trying to decide whether my original wasn't better.

Umm, did you send your song before going to NYC? If you did, I haven't received it.

frankie big face wrote: Frankie Big Face is a band. By the definition established by your duo, every member of my band ought to be allowed to contribute to the songwriting and the recording. As it turns out, I am the only songwriter and they play on the recordings when I ask them to (which is rare in this case because there's so little time).

Shit, that's a hell of a band - who else have you got, Duke Ellington and Itzak Perlman?

I swear, I started sending my song before noon, but I have a ten-year old computer, so it took like 5 minutes.

I'm now worried about the direction I went on my Sleep Walking song. My delivery is strange and now I'm wishing I would have kept it simple.
*sigh* nur ein.
EDIT:
.....Fuck it! ....NUR EIN!!!!

Yeah, I wondered if anyone was going to fence poke. Shouldn't have played your hand, Spud. I wouldn't have fixed that otherwise.
