Well, if you (or anybody else) would like to do a cover of somebody's song, that would certainly be welcome - it's just too late to assign you to anyone, so I can't promise that anybody will do a cover of one of your songs.

But if you want to do a cover... once it's turned in, I can spread the word and maybe somebody will decide to do a cover of yours, after they get their assigned cover finished. Sound fair?

Or I could volunteer to cover MintyHandy if he covers my target instead. I'm having a really hard time deciding what to cover since their music isn't really something I can get into, and I'd hate to do a crappy job - but there's a bunch of MintyHandy songs I'd love to do.

If everyone's okay with that, I mean.

Well, by "everyone" I mostly meant King Arthur, since he's the one in charge here, and MintyHandy, because it'd ruin the surprise for him as to who's covering him.

Old KA has mixed emotions, but figures he's probably been obsessive enough about this thing already, so if Fluffy and Minty can work it out, go ahead.

Yeah, when faced with any sort of opposition whatsoever, back down :-)

For the record, though, if Minty ends up stiffing (whoever), it's on you, Fluff...

Charles (KA)

P.S. I just did a first mixdown of my cover, and as soon as I'm happy with it, I'm going to start looking for another victim...

Okay, I'm in, with both feet. Even though I have no idea who Fluffy was supposed to cover. Here's me, going to look with fingers crossed. Thanks for letting me in the back door, folks!

Bump... just a reminder that cover songs will be due in another four weeks or so. If anyone needs to contact their cover-ee to get lyrics or other information about their songs, I am happy to serve as a go-between.

If anyone is concerned at this point that they may not be able to complete their cover by the deadline, please PM me so we can discuss. This includes anyone who is having a hard time choosing a song to cover. I know it's still a long time away, but if you are already concerned, let me know now. I have not yet looked at the list of who is covering who, but I have that information if I need it.

I would also appreciate hearing from anyone who is just about finished with their cover and might be willing to pick up a little slack to help make sure that everyone gets at least one cover when the fight is announced!

Thanks,
Charles (KA)

I'm on track.

Got a great song I think I have worked the chords out for - and should have some recording time tonight to get started.

Hoglen & Wages are on track. We've got the drums and acoustic guitar laid down. Now I've got to add electric guitar and vocals. I don't know if the receiver will be happy, but my wife has been humming the main guitar riff ever since she heard it, and I can't shake it either, so I know at least that WE will be happy. :D

I finally just picked the song I'm doing. It was tough because my person has such a HUGE catalog of music and a really good writer. So I had to finally pick 10 songs and pick my favorite one of those. So I'm starting tonight. Musical fun is afoot at estudio de blt.

There are at least two songs I'm going to cover (one from my original target, and one from my new target). I have very strong ideas for both but I haven't started to record either of them. Plus I just started drawing another comic miniseries, and this weekend I'm probably going to spend some time and money at APE and do stuff with my boyfriend. Basically, I am not very good at time management.

I started working on my first (and perhaps last, depending on time constraints) cover today. Seems to be one of them rare instances where my ideas actually come out as intended. Neat. Now I only have to decide whether I want to do... something... halfway through the song.

And Jon makes three.

Hey, when's the deadline for this, by the way?

Oh yeah, when we do get things done, what do we do with them? PM a URL to King Arthur, or...?

(Incidentally I have one of my covers done now. It came to get her easily.)

Yes, if you could PM the URL to me, that would be great. If anybody has no way to host the song themselves, PM me and I'll send my email address and you can mail the song to me. Thanks!
