Oh, but there's still snow in some places so obviously global warming is a myth.
Not to mention the aflockalypse with birds falling out of the sky, and fish floating to the surface. But "experts" say that's "normal", so we shouldn't be concerned.

By the way. Thanks AJOwens, I'm getting good mileage out of that term, lol.

Started this evening around six, finished around nine o'clock. Why is it I always get deadlines on the night before they're due?

Way to blab, LSK.

Also, I'm redoing my vocals. There is no way I can turn this in. I'll have to wait until morning when I have the hizzy to myself.

Heh, of course I mention this the night before the songs are due.

I had an unfortunate turn of events which ended in my car getting totaled over the holiday; all the time I originally budgeted for working on this project were consumed by handling insurance and shopping incessantly for a new car. I've been trying to piece stuff together on weeknights, but it amounts to very little progress. Between 'throwing something quick and dirty together tonight' or 'working hard on a more polished project to turn in late', which would be the lesser offense to this community? Whatever you say, I'll do something quick and dirty tonight... but I'll hold onto it for extra polishing if you guys give me the free pass.

is this a "it's due sometime on 1/11 in your timezone" or is there a specific time?

Nothing wrong with submitting a rough version now and then posting the real version later.

Crikey, lots of people trying to get free passes. Whatever happened to the ethic and the dire threats of banishment?

The begging of the extension is an annual tradition. I was just doing my part to honor the protocol.

In any case, I'm at the "Comparative Aesthetics of Deck-Chair Placement" portion of my process now, so I'm not sure how much actual benefit would be realized by an extension. At least for me.

(So this is due the 18th right?)

Yeah, I know, just doing my obligatory curmudgeon thing. Like BACK IN MY DAY etc. etc.

That's the interpretation I'm taking, whether it's the correct one or not.

I just finished recording all of the bits. Tomorrow evening, I shall mix and master.

"crikey"?

Were you handling a snake when you wrote that?

Alright, I got something worthwhile together; it's just guitar and vocals, but I like the way it turned out. I've got a couple finishing touches to do tomorrow, but I should have mine in on time :)

Mine will be late. Added a new toy to the rig and completely destroyed recording system over the holidays. Now it looks like I'm finally up and running. I should have the song done this weekend. Sorry. :(

I've been super sick over the last 4 days, so I haven't been able to finish my song.

I kinda love how in GoM, there's the airing of excuses. :)

And here's the traditional extension. The songs will be due on 1/18/11. For some (like me) there's a big ol' three day weekend right there. Perfect for finishing up songs.

Man I'm just gonna post mine that I finished weeks ago to my website. If you don't want spoilers, don't look at the "covers" section.
