Well, Anti, it's pretty much across the street from the second night's venue, so I'll stop by and have a look!

That is precisely why I asked! It will be a shame to be in the 'hood without a fix of Deluxe Junk. (Er...That sounds terrible.)

The Ballard/Freemont Sunday farmer's market will be worth stopping by. That will make up for it. :)

As much as I like baseball, I will likely be heading up into Puget Sound, via car and ferry, for the day on Sunday. My typical approach is to set unreasonable expectations to get out in the wild, see bald eagles and dolphin, and climb some mountain top or hike along some nail biting cliff. What usually happens is I get lost, see bald eagles and dolphin, find surprisingly stunning views and return far later after sun down than planned.

Who's with me?

I am much more interested in haphazard trips into the PNW wilderness than I am in America's rumored passtime, so yes, Roy, count me in! I've never actually hiked Rainier (criminal! I've also never been to Crater Lake!), although that may be a more substantial day trip than you have in mind.

roymond am in too, maybe.

however it be hard to do ferry ride + Rainier all in one day, however it does sunset well over 9pm.

if your looking for ferry + hiking, my suggestion is, ferry over to bainbridge island, or bremerton ( if you want to see 4 decommission navy carries next to each other ), then drive north to Port Angeles, then to Hurrican Ridge, 1 of the 2 entries into Olympic National Park. lost of easy - moderete hiking.

or if you really want to see mountain peaks, try over to Hwy 20, through North cascade NP, see areas like, Boston Basin, or Liberty Bell. my fav area, but its a 3h drive each way from Seattle.

Thanks, Dre. I went to Rainier last SFL Seatle. A truly spectacular day, and I'm not against doing it again, but thought going up into the islands might be a nice change up. I spent a week on the Olympic peninsular 20 years ago, and a few days there in ... 1974, so figured a refresher was due.

Omg Em, get to the lake of crater!

Listen, you guys. Y'all can plan your wilderness excursion without trashing my plans. I was just being polite and inviting people along. I didn't know it was a competition.

My intent was not to criticize you or your plan, Mr. Face. :) I am just profoundly disinterested in spectator sports of any stripe and baseball in particular. You guys should not worry about my opinions on this point. I mean what the heck do I know?

I didn't see a thread for lodging/planning logistics, so I figured I'd post here. If it's in the wrong place, the mods can feel free to move it.

I'm arriving in Seattle at about 1:00am Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I figured I would sleep at an airport adjacent hotel for one night, then figure out different arrangements for the rest of the stay. My return flight leaves Monday morning.

Money's tight for me right now (I almost had to cancel completely because of monetary issues), so my first preference would be if someone local has some extra bed/couch/floor space they can offer me. Anyone? Anyone? I'm packing super light.

Failing that, I plan on getting a hotel room in the city somewhere accessible to the venues. Don't know where yet, but it'd be nice if I could find someone to split a room with. Could I entice anyone with that offer?

Generic, i'll have to double check with my housemate, but if theirs no one using our guest bedroom that week, its all yours. i can even pick you up from the airport at 1am (my bedtime is 2-3am) .
I'll have to work Thursday - Friday, but there's a bus stop, down the hill from the house.
