I must "sheepishly" admit that I am late for my own sidefight. I hope to be done this week, but I'm having trouble with the lyrics. I will post any titles as they come in this week, then as of next Monday morning, we'll do the stiffee reveal.
If your entry is jacked up in some way, let me know. If you want to add a public note, let me know.

Niv, very cool. You even have one of my fav Doors lines in there, lol. Nice way to squeeze in the Uranus reference.

Mind slapping the Yahoo Web Player onto that page, Mike? It'd make it a lot easier to listen to everything.

Oh, that's cool, and it shouldn't even bake the page for those without js. Done.

Haha, it's awesome that my title came from Paco. I thought I was making a pretty Paco-esque song in certain ways, and was even thinking of asking Paco if he'd record vocals for it because I kept hearing it in his voice. Funny how that works out!

don't like freak or anything. I did an instrumental. And that's just how it is.
There's a little something extra though that I have been discussing for a couple days that is kind of interesting. And Fun. I'll post the link when it is done. Just a little Thing I've been discussing. Very Mysterious.
Oh, CRay?
Eggshells. Fantastic. These lyrics are just ...

Thank you. It was a bit of a last minute effort. I had originally started writing something about Rachel Carson and the bioaccumulation of DDT in raptors and egg shell thinning...but I lost the plot a bit on that one...so you can at least be thankful about that.

That is funny! Good tune, too. Maybe I'll cover it after NUR EIN! unless that's like inbreeding or something.(?)

Denise. That was amazing! This title kind of reminds me of the wizards apprentice from fantasia... I would love to watch the cartoon that goes along with this piece. Great job.

The poem he read to it is called The Patrician Peacock and the Overweening Jay. It's by Guy Wetmore Carryl. What's weird? That we didn't know the entire title (of the poem) until recently (today)! So it was a freaky coincidence! Good title pick and a strange journey! I'm glad I did an instrumental, and glad I said "listen to my weird instrumental I did." Wish I'd submitted it this way

Billy’s Little Trip – Are you always this funky? I thought you were kind of a hard rocker – so I pretty much skip over your stuff. This is great. The “in disguise” part isn’t as compelling as the rest of it for me, but I can’t tell you why and I guess there always has to be something that’s the least compelling.
I've always been a closet funker. I have quite a few in the archive with a funk/punk groove. I'm always torn between loud guitars, a funky groove and southern rock. I tend to make music I enjoy listening to, so it often has those 3 elements.
Thanks, Milo!

How are they vanilla?
Also, what's wrong with being the seedpod of a rare orchid that has to be cultivated in a tropical region and carefully hand-harvested, used to impart a subtle but rich flavor into sweet and savory foods?

Yes, the first question was serious.
If you don't care to listen to the lyrics then I can't force you to, but the song is from the point of view of my aging cat who is probably very confused about the world around him for the last couple years when he's changed owners, had to move a couple times, and then suddenly ended up having another cat around to deal with. There are also various double meanings scattered about, and this song was very personal to me but I'm sorry if I didn't decide to use enough twenty-dollar words to make you want to give a crap.

You've heard this, right?

I had not. Thanks - I like it. Also it's making me need to cry, and I'm still at work, you jerk.
I'll try to get around to reviewing the songs posted so far at some point.

There's a sequel, but I'll spare you until you're home.

I was coming back here to tell Milo that after Nur Ein I will put sheet music out. It's going to be a bit dicey because there's a bit of gong work (bowing on different pitches) and I'd like to do a piano reduction for it and perhaps look into making a bit of a small ensemble arrangement for a set-up with instruments I'd consider to be commonly available in a basic orchestra-y way (like a cello, viola/violin, piano/gt-tab, random percussion sort of thing). Also I will print a straight up score though. But after Nur Ein!
Thanks though for your comments that you had put up..
ps. also, as always and as usual (don't roll eyes...) I plan to review. even though nur ein. even though I said I'd review the last fight I was in. Which I still have to review. Don't throw tomatoes, folks. Or potatoes. :/
