I've been listening to Eyehategod's Take As Needed for Pain basically nonstop.

Is that band still around? I have "In The Name Of Suffering", but it must be 10-15 years old. Nice and miserable.

Yeah, they're on their 19th year of existence, actually.

Well, that shows you how in-tune I am. I'll look into the album you mentioned, as I enjoy the other when the mood strikes - thanks!

Currently listening to the new Shins album, Wincing the Night Away. I think it's kickass. Plus, when I bought it, my local indie record shop threw in a bunch of promotional stickers and a 7" with two non-album tracks. So that's why you should always buy from indie record shops, I guess!!

Listening to 'We are the Pipettes' has some bright moments, lead vocalist sounds kinda like sophie ellis-bextor, a lot of energy a good but not a great album!

Todd Rundgren - Something/Anything?

I actually can not believe it took me this long to check this album out. I feel cheated that I haven't listened to it sooner!

ROCK!

Spandex Enormity by Method of Destruction.

DO NOT LISTEN TO MOD if you can't take a joke. OR if you can't be mean and laugh. Or if you are a conservative. Some liberals need not apply.

Fuckin MOD... such a great but retarded band.

Righties love MOD. Well, some of them do at least. Billy Milano's one of the most conservative guys around.

I actually used Spandex Enormity in a speech for a college course once. The instructor, an avowed feminist, didn't seem to care much for it. In fact, I used Zappa's "Bobby Brown Goes Down" in the same speech ("Women's Liberation came creepin' all across the nation"), and I KNOW she didn't like that.

Que sera.

He's got me beat in the talent department, that's fo sho! I have to agree with his James Blunt sentiments - that "Beautiful" song reminded me of how "Feelings" could make you homicidal in the '70s.

I'm enjoying TWO different songs which, at least in part, interpret the Inspector Gadget theme.

If you have not yet heard Ross Durand's El Balazo (from the Nur Ein competition last year) you are missing out. It's pretty much in a completely different league than most SF stuff... it just came on my shuffle and man... I still am stunned by that track.

Ross's voice is really pretty on that one. He must have tied his Balazos in a rubber band to get that pitch.
But, you're right, that is different for SF, but great. Who did he collaborate with?

He collaborated with a woman named Anja Claire. You can find out about her and more about the song in my Top 200 of 2006. It was my #1.

Anja is a good friend of the Seamus Collective. You may see her on the Songfight Tour SoCal shows.

Hmmm, very interesting. She has a very real voice, which is refreshing.

Rick Wakeman of Yes. Just picked up a 2 dollar cd for the sake of buying, it, and I'm actually impressed. Just the cheesy keyboard/electric drum sound I've been dying to have for a long time.

Oh, leave him alone J$ - he doesn't know any better, he's Canadian. It will give him a break from Men Without Hats and The Crash-Test Dummies.
