Forum sections aren't very permanent.

i agree that the list of all fighters is a bad idea, for whatever that's worth.
you know you can link to external pages from the wik,i right?
i also take offense at the notion that "effects are the crutch of the weak", but whatever!
What's the etiquette on editing someone's content?
EDIT: I don't really "take offense", lest someone read that too literally.

People who read things like that literally need to not be on the Internet.

It's a wiki. Edit as you deem fit. I'm always thankful for proofreading/copy editing.

yeah, but if i just go in and change it to "effects are not the crutch of the weak" then that's pretty lame, isn't it?
or if someone deleted your all-fighters list.

The great thing about a wiki is revision control. The reason Wikipedia works as well as it does (relative to it working in the way that Wikipedia works, in any case) is that it takes more effort to vandalize the site than to revert vandalism. (Plus the asshat quotient is way low. Again, relative to asshattery by the Wikipedia standards of community.)

craig,
i think you're safe to remove obvious in-joke / personal opinion / BS stuff at any time. if someone feels strongly about it, they can change it back.

Or they could put it in a comment.

blue, that sounds like a good policy.
on the other hand, i'm probably too sensitive for wikis.
I think I subconsciously associate edits with personal attacks.
lunkhead, is there a place for comments, or do you just mean a footnote or something on the page?

I think he means the big ol' "Comments" link at the top of every page.

ahh, that appears to be absent when you are not logged in.

Anyone notice the Google ads on the Wiki artist pages?
Roymond - Live Psychic Readings and Voodoo Love Spells
Jim of Seatle - Piano Lessons
Most folks - Ringtones and Music Downloads
Fluffy - CSS, RSS and Bedding
15-16 - Block Caller IDs and Call Alert
Octothorpe - Broadway Songs and Learn to Sing
Sonofsupercar - Meet Local Musicians and Bands & Entertainers
It's pretty wild. They change a bit but the themes remain per artist.

My page features an ad for a MUSICAL CAR HORN with public address system. 80+ SONGS. A bargain at any price.
What this says about my body of work, I am afraid to ponder.

OK, the Wiki says the current song titles are:
C: Crude
L: Big Success
Z: Am I Forgiven
Due: Thursday 05/18/06 9:59am pst
<pantiesinabunch>
This is why there shouldn't be this kind of material in the Wiki. If it's wrong, it's worthless. Especially if it's time sensitive. The link for this week's title should simply point to the songfight.org homepage.

you're the only person still reading it, so have at it.

I concur. There's no reason for that to be in the wiki. I'm willing to do wiki updates (like updating the Songfighters with Profiles page every week) but I feel that one is unnecessary.

Good idea, I think I got irritated that old titles were there and updated them at some point, but agree that there's no reason to include that in there. Good!

I've been enjoying this a lot. I have been putting in a lot of random entries. And I have plans for a lot more random entries for bands I've picked up info on (like Joanie Loves Chachkies, Michael Maas, Balls to Monte...). But other than JBB, are there some other bands like need to be represented that I missed so far.
