Half a Stone or Crinkle Binkle or anything else you think will work.

I would say: Hold This for Me, So Kind Stacey, In the Ditch, From This Day On, any of those would work. Pick a few of your favorite Abom songs too... I will tell Phil to suggest a few. Great idea Jack!

Hey, I don't know geography very well, but is Myrtle Beach, CA anywhere near Santa Cruz, CA? because if it is, Mr Fishboy Rex one time songfighter and now dirtcheapmusic.net has just opened his own music venue and is looking for bands to fill it. No, really. syncronicity?

I'm pretty bad at geography myself. But I think Myrtle Beach isn't in California; in fact, I'm pretty sure it's on the east coast. The Carolinas, maybe?
Also: I'm still dreaming of going to Santa Cruz this summer. If I were to appear on the aforementioned CD, Between The Rain or Courage might be good choices.

I think you'll have to give J$ a break there - after all, he's from one of those cute, little postage-stamp sized countries where east coast and west coast are pretty much spitting-distance from each other

God, I'm incredibly stupid - I was thinking SC stood for Southern California for a moment, not South Carolina - it's all Hicksville,USA to me, anyway

Whats worse is that alot of the suburban kids in Georgia head strait for that beach during spring break. Hilton Head.

Ah, don't beat yourself up about it. I actually LIVE over here and I wasn't entirely sure either.
As long as you and I can make our respective ways out to California for SF Live, it's all good.

And you want to see Hicksville, come on up here for a weekend. One of our local banks just got robbed for the second time in about a month, so they decided it was finally time to get a security guard. Yeehaw!

Well, well... wish I could think of a song from the Rabid/Primitive catalog that wouldn't get doors slammed in your face, Jack, but alas... we want a venue
On the transport front, I'll be driving to the show (wherever and whenever) from Portland OR, by way of Fresno, CA about a week beforehand, so if anyone in the Pac Northwest needs to be dropped off in the Bay Area en route and shuttled back afterwards, just let me know.

Maybe Glenn & Rachel can get a cheap bus/Air ticket to Portland and ride down the rest of the way. Save wear and tear on their vehicle. I don't know..just throin' it out there.
Heck, I'd like to think that maybe even I could do something like that. But I don't know how I'll get to the Pacific Northwest just yet.

Yeah, I'm aiming for March...but who knows. But yeah...last year I said 'one more year'. That year will be up in March. It also represents a one year anniversary at my current job that I don't want to work at...but could use as a jump to Seattle. (Transfer possibilities) I will have a couple of other personal items in order by then as well. It's just about saving up and making it happen at this point. Anyways, TMI I suppose.

Rachael needs to request the time off way in advance too, so she was recently asking me if we knew exactly when this was happening this year.
And as far as the Songfight compilation CD for booking: You are welcome to use anything I have been part of, Señor Jack!
ROCK!

Far from definite - but not at all beyond the realms of possibility
That chance dropping. Due to issues with my wife's job, we've had to postpone the round-world trip we were planning for this year.
We will still be looking for an overseas trip somewhere later in the year - so California in August is as good an option as any. I went there many years ago and remember being pretty impressed with San Franscisco and the Big Sur area - and my wife has never been to west coast USA - so it's a possibility. Just got to see how some job things pan out.
BTW: Have any of you ever attempted long flights with young children? I've flown with my 2-year-old daughter to Far North Queensland twice in the last 2 weeks - and she wasn't real impressed with the idea of sitting in the one place for 2 1/2 hours. Not sure how much fun 18 hours across the Pacific would be.

We flew from Minneapolis to Seattle with our son when he was 2. The flight was about 4ish hours (certainly no 18 hr stretch). We rented a portable DVD player and he watch movies and Bob the Builder the whole flight. He was happy.

I second the portable DVD player motion. We did Honolulu to Chicago when our boy was two with no problem.
