I may not be in charge of this, but I am thinking "no" as long as it's before tomorrow.

Just make sure to update your old post with the new songs so people don't get confused.

ROCK!

Okay, I guess I'm in then, and my four choices are:

1) Shells by Gandharvas
2) Blown Wide Open by Big Wreck
3) Angels by The Tea Party
4) Giant by Matthew Good Band

Pretty good choices, I think, and THEY'RE ALL CANADIAN. SUCKERS.

He didn't abominize. Turbonegro is an awesome choice.

I'm hoping that I get Sven's list because "Angels" rocks.

Dre, have you ever heard Rasputina's cover of Fox in the Snow. It's very good (especially since Melora of Rasputina plays in B&S whenever their cellist, whose name fails me at 1 in the morning, isn't able to tour).

This is shaping up to be quite a GoM!

well i just heard it now, and yes its very cool, and very offbeat... that girl has a very depressing voice, almost like a little girl with big watery puppie eyes..
thanks for the hint.

Allright, I'm making a last minute change, I think it's for the best:

Mama said knock you out by L L cool J
shall replace The Sleepytime Gorilla Museum song,
but if you don't know SGM and you like Mr. Bungle's Disco Violante and weird stuff of that nature you should most definitely check them out.

TheHipCola wrote:thought about it some...here's my fo:

Pink Floyd : Free Four (because I love the irony of the music/lyrics)
Gary Numan/Tubeway Army: Are Friends Electric? (one of his finest pieces)
The Cult: Love Removal Machine ('cuz I cut my teeth musically on this tune)
April Wine: Say Hello (outdated token Canadianna, kickass song.)

All of these tunes could use a little updating. Looking forward to hearing it. YAY!
I'd like to exchange my April Wine track for another Canadian tune, if it's not too late.

The Rheostatics - The Tarleks

i did not do Craig's songs last year, but i am paying my debt in other ways, mostly involving plastic farm animal reproductions and gallons of lard.

i'd just like to say that the last lard samples you sent me were simply divine.

Hmmm... So, who had me last year? Thankfully c hack and Bolio came through with covers for me, above and beyond their assignments. I'm not bitter, just curious.

36 Bands!

That's beautiful. I'm almost set to give out the assignments. But I'm going to give one more hour (1:30-2:30 EST) for any last minute scragglers to join (No Song Adjustments can be made during this time).

An even 40 would be nice. Over 40 would be incredible. So, if you know a Songfighter who hasn't signed up, get them to join the GoM.

Thanks.

Ok, I'm officially IN. Song list to follow. Swear ta gawd I've been thinking about this list for most of the year. This is my favorite Songfight project of all.

Huge thanks to Jim Tyrrell for notifying me that this has been in planning, as I've been somewhat AWOL of late.
