Here are a couple of ideas for show order for your consideration.

10:30-11 Ken and the New Incredibles
10-10:30 fluffy
9:30-10 Moxie Prophets

Just to double check, I expect to play with the following folks, if I said I would play in your band and you are not on the list, let me know.

Seamus/Evil-E
prayformojo
Tiny Robots
KNI

See you all soon.

Be well,
Ken

I think the alternating would be great in case there are set-up & break down needs for bands. Just my thoughts.

Also, our set list is tentatively:

Run Faster
The Red Door
Piece of My Heat
Someone Like You*
If I Could See*
Everybody Now
Fell Out Of The Sky

*non SF songs
We'll be able to run through this set in 25 minutes without banter. If we cut the set we would eliminate the NON-SF songs.

If anyone wants to help with backup vocals on Piece of My Heat, let me know. 2 voices to do oo-la lala's. We lowered the key of that song to start in A.

Octothorpe following State Shirt? Surely you realize this will cause the implosion of the entire spacetime continuum, yes?

All right, if it helps, I will post our set:

What We Need More Of Is Science
Across The Dusty Plains
Step Up
Bullseye Girl
Skyline
Skyline
Zombie Son

with prayformojo:

Overkill
Bad Dreams

There may be some logic to us having contiguous sets with pfm, in terms of minimizing the picking up and putting down of guitars, plugging in of keyboards, etc.

I like that you are playing Skyline twice. Can I drunkenly get up on stage and play cowbell for WWNMOIS?

Well, we ARE playing Skyline twice, and yes, we insist. My favorite rendition was in SF with both you and blue on percussion on that one.

Given the info and time slot preferences that people pm'd me and/or expressed here, I suggest this:

11:30-12 Abecedarian
11-11:30 Ken and the New Incredibles
10:30-11 State Shirt
9:30-10:30 Octomojo
9-9:30 Ross Durand
8:30-9 Tiny Robots/Lunkhead/Loyalty Day
8-8:30 fluffy
7:30-8 Moxie Prophets
7-7:30 Seamus/Evil-E

Anyone object to this ordering? Ken I remember last time you had family coming and wanted to play earlier so if you want you could switch with Octomojo.

* Is all of LD coming? I could use some female vocal help on a cover I'm doing.

I object.

My drummer won't make it up to LA until 8:00-8:30 at the earliest. We'd really really really prefer 9, 9:30 or 10. Thanks.

Hey Sean,

I think I would like to switch with them if I could switch with # and play at 9:30 that would be great. Then Octothorpe, pfm, stateshirt, abc.

Erin is coming, so PM her for back ups. She would be happy to do it.

Dood! You didn't mention that little tidbit in your pm (when I specifically asked for time constraints - <fingerthrum><fingerthrum>).

11:30-12 Abecedarian
10:30-11:30 Octomojo
10:00-10:30 State Shirt
9:30-10:00 Ken and the New Incredibles
9-9:30 Moxie Prophets
8:30-9 Tiny Robots/Lunkhead/Loyalty Day
8-8:30 fluffy
7:30-8 Ross Durand
7-7:30 Seamus/Evil-E

Is everyone okay with their time slot?

Looks good to me. Any idea how much space we have? I'd like to set up my crap off to one side before everyone starts... I finally have a pedalboard but it still takes about 10 minutes to set up. Don't want to eat into anyone's set time...

prayformojo wrote:You can play whatever you damn well please on Husky. And since you mentioned it... do you actually have a lap steel? cause I have a new song it would go perfect with... and let me know if I can return the favor on your set.
Awww crap I wish I had a lap steel. D'oh! If I had one I probably wouldn't be able to play it all that well. No tuba either, sorry... Actually maybe since you're pretty much already hooked up for Husky Youth, I could do what you suggested... some guitar-y stuff on These Defenses... Let me know when you have that one uploaded!

As for returning the favor that would rock! Lemme figure out what the hell I'm gonna play. I'll send you a PM!

time slot looks good to me. Besides, I may be playing abit for Seamus and Evil, and they for me. So that opening hour may be smoother that way.

Looking forward to it!

Sweet. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. Likely to be my last show in LA so I'll try to send it off with a bang.

This also works for me.

#, would you guys like to go first or second in the Octomojo bonanza? I was originally planning on doing our songs towards the end of my set, but I can easily move them both to the begining if you all want to go first. I am totally flexable.

I believe the consensus we came to over 50-year barrel-aged scotch was that we would like to go first and segue into your set.
