I think this important, so forgive me if it seems pedantic:

Will each judge rank the bands (in the first round) from 25 points (best) down to 1 point (worst), then you add up all 5 scores for each band, and whichever band has the most points is immune, and whichever 4 bands have the lowest point totals will be eliminated?

Or, will each judge nominate one "best" band and one "worst" band, and then you look for pluralities?

I think it has to be the first way, right? Though that's tough on the judges, having to rank 25 bands in the first round. I have a hard enough time just reviewing a 25 song fight, forget about having to order the results!

Yes.

Hooray Leaf! Welcome aboard.

Also: My name has Two Rs and two Ls in it. Not that it's a big deal, hardly anyone gets it right. Glenn Case recorded a song to that effect once. :D

These ought to be some pretty packed fights. I'm looking forward to listening some of the oldsters that don't fight too often nowadays.

So, I'm out. Anyone else want to step up and take my place?

Nah, I'm getting tired of keeping up with all the sudden changes to this, but I don't want to make a big thing out of it. So let someone else who would enjoy the process more do it. Seriously, not being queeny, just want to make the thing enjoyable for everyone involved.

Jack and J$: I wouldn't have joined this thing if you two weren't on the panel. Now what the fuck am I supposed to do?

Maybe I'm just missing something here, dunno.

I knew you wouldn't give up so easily, Jack. Now convince Johnny to not quit and we're all good again. :D

i think johnny's point of contention (i could be wrong) is what started out as a simple little side fight has gotten all convoluted, discussed to death, and hard to understand and follow. too many cooks in the kitchen. nothing personal but i think 5 judges is too many. american idol has 3 and i thought that was the idea we were going with here. i really don't mind sitting this out, but since i've already committed to one idea for this (which has since changed repeatedly) i'm loathe to back out of something i said i'd do. i'm happy to back out like johnny mentioned with no ill will towards anyone.

johnny, if i do this, i hope you'll do this too.

Yeah, I feel the idea I agreed to has changed to a point where it is no longer what I agreed to. I appreciate the formulative nature of this thread, but I just want to bow out as quietly as possible. I don't want to insist on rollbacks to ensure my involvement, so the easiest way for the game to continue is for me to step down. I am sure User can act as the JoS balance far better than I can, anyway...

I though Jurys were supposed to bicker behind closed doors?

It would be rather nice if we ALL knew where we stood, after all this is meant to be fun and not a chore. The ever changing rules and judges are somewhat perturbing. Hmm?

Can't it be what we signed up for?

Criminy. I only changed up the number of judges because the opinions of J$, Jack and Jim can be very similiar. I wanted to throw in some flavor so that the jury has a much broader range of opinions.

And then after making that change, I made a remark on that being the last chnage that I was making to the concept. End of discussion.

So now it's a simple question- are you in or not. No more questions on how it'll be run. Just playing the game, which is why I threw my hand into this in the first place.

So can we please just play the game. We have it all set up now. 25 bands. 5 judges. All the rules in place. Don't go screwing it up now. Run with it. If it doesn't work, we'll change it up the 2nd time we play. Okay????

Just to reiterate - I am out, so you need to find another judge, or run with 4. As long as the game goes on, then no biggie.

It's all a little despotic, though not quite as big as the Enron scandal... Yet.
