'specially if we get a sudden flurry and the total then goes over the 25, I can hear a potential can of worms being opened!!
Great songs by the way, to all who made it! I'm going to enjoy listening to these at work tomorrow!

Yes. That is what he is saying. And that pretty much sums up what I want to say too.
I got up at 6am yesterday, programmed drums and recorded guitar. Went to work at 8:30 and headed strait to a gig after work and finally got to bed at 2:30am.
I got up today at 6:30am, recorded bass, recorded vocals, put some standard touches on the mix / master / encoded and sent on and was again off to work by 8:30am where I'm headed directly to another gig tonight.
I'm so tired. If I would have known that I would be entered automatically, well... I would have just recorded "kick start this fart" and name dropped Terrance & Phillip.

Nur Ein is brutal. If you hope to do well, get used to Nur Ein kicking you in the privates over and over.

Last year, people had to sort of "officially" sign up and there was a list of more than 25 artists prior to the deadline. I think that would have been helpful this time around as well. I felt a lot more pressure this year because I had no idea how many people would submit songs, since it was basically an open invitation. Last year, I figured I only had to be in the top 25 out of like, 27. So anyway, I have no real point here.

It's your contest, you can run it how you want, but I'd prefer it if you adhered to the rules that you made up. When people who run contests change rules after they've been set, it makes me think they're going to change other rules down the line and I am less motivated to try my best.
I know, that sounds so boyscoutarded, but if we're fake-voting, I'ma vote no.

Erik, it doesn't matter what you think because...NEW RULE: no hyphens in your band name! You're out.

I agree. We stick with the 22. It's a little disappointing to only have 22 instead of 25 but hey, it will make the eliminations more meaningful.

Add me to the list of ppl who are dissapointed that he could have went thru to the next round with anything. I got knocked out of Nur Ein cuz I'm sick as hell. And I have no earthly idea what's wrong with me other than my nose is running like a faucet and I feel zombified. I even came home early from work today cuz I couldn't stand it anymore.

Niveous did post a list of 26 people who said they'd participate:
http://www.songfight.net/forums/viewtop ... 25#p113725
And if I recall correctly, Round Zero last year was also open to unannounced participants. So I think the big difference this year is that more people failed to enter, which is too bad.

Aww shit. I went ahead and recorded a song after Niv said he was okay with it, now I find it was all for naught. THANKS ERIK.

Nur Ein should reflect life.
THE MAN is always changing the rules halfway through
Change the rules
Keep it random dude
I am but a plaything to the Nur Ein gods. Abuse me as you see fit. I love it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, CR, but maybe it's better this wy. I mean, Niv said go ahead at ~3 PM, I chuckled, wasted half an hour, went to the liquor store and got a case of beer, then recorded
this. If I can do this in under 2 hours, is it really fair to everyone else to allow me in?

I don't care if we admit a few more songs . . . but no more than 3. If the total number of songs is 26 or more, I will certainly be voted out. My round zero song was less than stellar. I promise to do better in round 1.

All 22 on timers should make the cut. Only eliminate late comers if the flurry peaks over 25. i have to say it was not very clear that the deadline was Today. i noticed it, but it was news to the rest of my band who saw the May 5th date and thought that was the deadline. There's some serious absentees. Minty Handy? Ken ? Mico Sauded? Steve Durand? Lord of Oats? just to name a few.

thank the gods i made the cut... by default... but i know now that round 2 is way out of reach after listening to all the entries... holy crap...
edit: after listening to Mark with an umlaut Sven's entry... i would forfeit my round zero to him if it goes over 25...
