I'll call it a stumper in another half hour, I guess. It's a tough one.
OH! stud/spud
I hadn't thought of that one. I guess you can claim credit, though it's pretty arguably whether "stud" is outmoded. I had another in mind when I wrote the question.
Further clarification: The word is an adjective.

Generic wrote:Yeah, these FAMOUS + SONGFIGHT ones read like the "Before and After" category on Wheel of Fortune, if that line of analogy helps you think about it.
By the way, I was pretty confident in that answer once it occured to me, but Albatross never confirmed it. Wasiright?
Before and After was used on Jeopardy as well, IIRC.
Your guess was correct, natch.

The answer I had in mind was What is phat? The Songfighter is Plat.
I didn't realize until about ten minutes ago that he never actually entered a fight under that name... D'oh! Guess I'd better leave the question-writing to the professionals.

As I recall, its etymology is from an acronymn for Pretty Hot And Tempting, so I'm pretty sure it means sexy. No one really uses it anymore anyway, do they?

Here's one that's more difficult to dispute.
ANAGRAMS: Boris Hen airs them.

that sounds like a backronym to me. the kind of person that used "phat" would not say "tempting". blech, flashbacks to my junior year of college when they stuck me with this freshman. he said "phat" every other word. we had nothing in common.

Albatross gets it!
ANAGRAMS: FOIL TAMES JET
ANAGRAMS: Click apart, Tony.
FAMOUS + SONGFIGHT: Act that's an anagram for the name of Guns'n'Roses' frontman, plus a short-lived Songfight duo who never used the instrument in their name.

When talking about Songfight to someone unfamiliar with the concept, it often bears mentioning that the low barrier to entry results in some downright terrible recordings. I can think of no better example than LEF.

I could swear that Lightning Ear Fart and/or Swedish Masturbation Unit got name-dropped in at least one article. I could be wrong.
First anagram: JIM OF SEATTLE

Done and done!
I'm writing anagrams faster than people can solve them, so after someone gets my (obscenely hard, admittedly) third question, someone else should probably take over.

Calling it a stumper. The answer was "What is Oral Sex Piano?" That was probably a $500-level question, so sorry.
I just wrote three more and I want to get them up here before I leave work:
FAMOUS + SONGFIGHT ($300-level):
One-hit wonder parodied in Weird Al's "Taco Grande" plus a Songfight collective with a changing lineup
FAMOUS + SONGFIGHT ($100-level):
World famous bluesman plus the oldest active Songfight participant since 2003
RHYME TIME ($500-level):
A blown-up desert/savanna mammal turns to drink.

Tho I thought "one hit wonder" referred to the band, not the song... threw me off for a while.

Oh, shoot. I thought that was his name. Sorry about that. I still think the Weird Al hint makes that one fairly easy.
Anyway, Heuristics gets the third!
