Remember, nothing. I think I tend to find myself there automatically most times.

The term "First blood" meant absolutely nothing to me so I just had to come up with something goofy that vaguely related - I'm glad people kind of liked it. However, I actually *am* colorblind (okay, "colourblind" if you insist), and my song on *that* topic is going to rock your socks off once I've recorded it. So if you're wearing socks, beware!!!!

Calliopeva wrote:"I'm fine with faith based songs or songs based on fiction, even in this round...depending on the approach." So what about the approach in this particular song didn't you like?
Since I commented on that as well, perhaps I can say something about it. I didn't particularly dislike the content of the song, but I thought it was not a good fit for the "educational" challenge. Your song was in the form of a personal story, which is very atypical for educational material. In the last chorus the focus shifts away a bit from the personal aspect, but still retains the strongly emotional side, still chock full of imagery and stylistic embellishments. This, too, is not the form educational things tend to have.

We have a tradition here. Seeing you as an excellent contender in the future, you should know that you add an explanation point for each year that Nur Ein has existed here at the mighty Song Fight! It is now your doody to pay this bit-O knowledge forward to one future Noob-Ein. You're welcome. ;)

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I can't believe BLT got this wrong, since he's the one who started it. The appropriate tradition is to add one exclamation point for each round of THIS Nur Ein! So for round one postings there should be one, for round two, two, et...

I thought we decided to go off years. Figures I'd suggest it off of rounds. I am my own worst enema.

I think that ! per years is cooler. Shall we take it to a poll? :)

I always thought it was as Ross said, thus expressing the building drama of the Nur Ein. Nur Ein!

For round 0 is it "Nur Ein"? And said in a disappointed tone?

^ See, that is disappointing. Let me try *clears throat*...NUR EIN. Yeah......it's missing that oomph.

But I do like the idea of each round building excitement. But I also like it showing the annual life of the event.

Fine. Each round gets an exclamation point. So, round zero is Nur Ein!

Go look at your posts from previous years. You'll see that you added one per round.

Just to clutter this up further...I trust Ross. But I, too, thought it was an exclamation point for each year. Hmm. What a silly yet mildly torturous dilemna!

My secret strategy is to lure you all into posting stuff here all the time so that you end up handing in worse songs so that listening to them is more enjoyab...

yeah, okay, back to the drawing board.
