As you know, I generally really almost always like your songs. My biggest complaint has been your mastering - everything's usually super loud and harsh. Which, yes, is different from mixing, but I find it surprising given the quote above.

Yeah, I keep changing mastering programs that I use so I'm still settling into the new one. I've not quite found that point yet when my tracks sound punchy and full compared to a reference track without it being a bit loud.

What kind of mastering tools do you use?

I've been lazy this year - I mostly just use an Izotope preset and tweak it.
