Seeing as the time is up, JoS is in but he has to hurry up and give in his list. I'll just keep a placeholder. Okay, now for the choosing and PMing. Please begin debate on due date.

Your "screwer" would appear to be either HKD or Tony Hightower.

Xmas maybe? Almost exactly 2 months away, would be fitting wouldn't it?

Due date should be tomorrow. That way, allowing for the inevitable extensions, we'll get our Christmas presents somewhere near Christmas.

We've tried Xmas and New Year's before. While that's good in concept, it doesn't work out, because, well, there's Xmas and New Years and it gets awfully hard at that time of year to crawl downstairs and work on music without incurring the wrath of the familial types.

I edited my original post so that whoever got assigned me can download all the songs. I guess I'll post the links here too, in order to avoid searching for the first post.
I think the due date should be like December 1st so that some of us actually get holiday gifts. And there is lots of moving/travelling that happens during December. So let's make it due before that, and if anybody's late, then people won't notice til they're done with the holidays. And then the late ones might have finished up while nobody was paying attention!

Thanks for joining, Blue. I almost didn't see your post in time.
And no, Erik is not. But if anyone wants to get him to tip his hat in, they've got about 15 minutes in which to do so.

Crap, I'll do it if blue is doing it. Picks are below:
"Nous Ne Sommes Pas Des Anges", by Heavenly
"Family Functions", by that dog
"Josephine" by Portastatic*
"Herculean Bellboy" by Young and Sexy
* Ooops. A thorough reading of the liner notes has alerted me to the fact that this song is already a cover. The original song is by The Magnetic Fields, and (thanks to blue) you can now hear the
original version of the song.

OK C. Hack. We don't like turning anyone away. So what we need right now is 1 more band and 1 person who really really doesn't dig their list. PM me if you are the latter.
All the Giftlists have been sent out. Remember- it's a SECRET.

I too am very excited.
If the person who got me can't find all the songs, I'd be glad to send them. Maybe we could route them through someone else (like Egg, maybe) so I don't find out who it is.

For whoever got me, here is my list, sorry for being last minute:

Brotha - Jill Scott
Lydia the Tattooed Lady - Groucho Marx
There There (The Boney King of Nowhere) - Radiohead
Will provide links to them if needed - just let Niveous know

All my songs were linked to a few pages back, but here is the parent directory if you can't be bothered to roll back the wordage.
http://www.johnnycashpoint.com/gom05 - I could only find a tab for the Buzzcocks one on-line, but if you're interested in the others, I figured out how to play the TVPs one on my own. The other two, you're on your own
As for the lucky sot who has got me, I don't need any of the songs. I know the one I am doing already. And I'm going obvious, as subtlety doesn't behove me on this occasion.

I have never heard any of the songs on my list! In fact, this is the third consecutive year that I have been presented with four completely new-to-me songs. This is going to be fun!
As for the deadline, I cast my vote for sometime after Christmas. Like, Maybe January 5th. Something like that. I can't really record until I go home for Christmas break on December 16th, so I would definitley prefer a deadline sometime after that. I don't know, though. I might as well figure out the whole dorm room recording situation some day.

Taking my cue from j$'s impeccable netiquette,
http://www.pats-lies.com/songfight/GOM2005/ is where one could find the songs from both my and Albatross's wishlists. If one were so inclined.

I will upload my songs somewhere for my poor unfortunate victim.
I too have four songs that I have never heard, although I have heard of the artists (bar one)
This should be good. Weird, but good.
