Ok, so I'm getting a little nervous about the whole not having a bass player thing. Especially whne many of my songs are very bass driven. Anyone interested in being listed in the annuls of history as a bass playing member of my Good Times Fun Band? Anyone?

I'm trying to the ones from the last show and make up ones for the new song. Musically I'm retarded and do everything by ear, so I don't have them right off hand. I will do my best to locate and/or re-create them tonight.

Awww crap I wish I had a lap steel. D'oh! If I had one I probably wouldn't be able to play it all that well. No tuba either, sorry... Actually maybe since you're pretty much already hooked up for Husky Youth, I could do what you suggested... some guitar-y stuff on These Defenses... Let me know when you have that one uploaded!
I think Sam is doing the guitar stuffs of Defenses, though I'm not 100% sure. I'd be honored to have either of you do that. If you were interested in being part of Husky Youth and wanted to do the backup vocal parts (which consists mostly of screamign "need love too", making fun of me in a girlie voice, and singing bootylicious in a squeeky falsetto) then it's all yours. Just let me know.

Here is my setlist in show order, with links:

-There is a slight change during the "bootylicious" bridge section. We are goign to extent it this time. I will start out by singing the chorus to that Milkshake song once through, the the baking vocalist will do bootylicious over the second time through the milkshake verse. Good times

Wow, Chris, I like the new song. If, Ethan, you want to play on it, though, that's fine with me. I'm going to have a fair amount on my plate as I'm also playing bass for Evil E. Of course, we could both play on it, too. I could play rhythm and you lead, etc. Whatever is fine with me.

Thanks man. I'm honored to share the stage with both of you. My friend Jeff (Sam, you met him last time. He sang backups for me ) is playing the acoustic on it. Maybe have a few slide guitar-ish accent ideas in mind, and we'll solidify it on Saturday.

Just a quick note on practice time:

I have a room reserved from 4p-7p for people to practice. If people feel like that's not enough we can either extend it or bands can reserve rooms on their own (there are 8-10 rooms at this place).

Let me know if people think 3 hrs is enough for practice (not including the 1 hour I have the showcase reserved before playtime)

Hey All,

We are about to hit the road.

I'm worried we won't have enough practice time for everyone. I may call and book some earlier time. How does 2pm sound?

I think most of you already have my cell #.

See you soon.

I was thinking about swinging by and checking things out since I'm local. I've only entered a few fights(as Bax, and 1/2 of OutBax), but it'd be fun to see this. Is there a link to a flyer of somesort listing address, times, and cost, or should I just dig through the 9 pages of posts? ;)

-Bax

EDIT: woops never mind all the details are on songfight.org. See you guys there!

Yeah, Ken, I gotta say I agree with you there. We had anticipated grabbing some space as soon as we can collar blue. Early is good, as it gives us some time to rest up. Looks like the rates are better before 5, too, if you sign up for at least two hours.

My cell is 323-497-7784

I also think more time = good, and had also considered booking some. Unfortunately, between prepping for this and work i haven't had much time to do anything. I'll be spendign tonight desperately trying to finish lead sheets, lyrics, practicing melodica parts, and cleaning my apartment.

The rock and roll life style...

Hey All,

We arrived safely, no thanks to a HazMat spill that closed down 5.

Let's all plan on meeting at 2pm at Sound Arena and practicing. We can book two rooms if we need them or have them overlap with the rom we already have booked. I will call them when they open to make arrangements.

Ken was not able to procure space at 2 - they were booked. However, he did book a room at 4, so let's meet there then.
