With the impending arrival of the little one, I knew I'd have to get this done early. So I did.
I hope you also managed to cram in 21 years worth of other little chores there in your last days of freedom.

Anyway - in between watching Wiggles videos and cleaning Vegemite off the walls - I have finished too.
So true! And a pleasant return to your former humor :)
If the Wiggles are so big here, I can't imagine what it's like to raise kids down there.

I'm gonna say that I'm gonna be late. I have something but I'm not sure if I like it. And I don't wanna just enter crap for sake of the deadline.

My kids are blissfully unaware of the Wiggles. So far. We don't have cable or anything, so all they watch is stuff on DVD/VHS, and we can easily keep the Wiggles/Teletubbies/etc. at bay.

Anyway, back on (well, toward anyway) topic: I put as many SF songs into my mp3 player as would fit (5GB), and I've been listening to it on random in the car. I've already stumbled on a bunch of tunes I'd love to cover. There was one by Ken (I'll update if I remember which) that I heard just today that I must have missed when the fight happened, because I liked it quite a lot. I'll be extra-embarassed if the song was from a fight I was in! ...Well, the point is, I still wanna see what people chose for me on their lists. It'll give me a chance to make good on some of that 'I'll do a cover for anyone that wants one' bravado I was spouting off a couple months back.

I like the Wiggles - they rock! My wife is taking Caravan Harriet to see them live in 2 weeks - and I'm pretty pissed off I didn't get a ticket too (also pissed off I didn't think to make my 4 GOM selections Hot Potato, Get Ready To Wiggle, Rock-a-Bye Your Bear and Bow Wow Wow)

so with all the people that will be late, what again was the official coverfight policy vs. getting banned and all that stuff...?

I will take care of Hot Potato. I have been looking for an excuse to cover that song.

I don't think there's an official policy, but if you never finish your cover of a SongFighter for an official cover fight, you will definitely be ridiculed, possibly be ostracized, and probably be banned from future official cover fights until you finish your overdue cover. But I've never run these things, so I'm not an expert or authoritative source of info...

I'm so pumped. I feel bad for whoever had to cover my song. They'd need lots of creativity to make some of those worth listening to. I hope you like my cover though ... mystery person ...

We will be late. However, we will deliver. Gotta put the studio back together after the big gig on Saturday. Cables are still all in the car...

Mine is in on time, however it is quite possibly the worst mixdown of anything I have recorded in recent history.

It might actually just be the worst mixdown I have ever done, actually. Hopefully the idea will still come across, though. Hopefully the coveree will enjoy my interpretation despite the poor audio quality. It sounded pretty good on my studio speakers right after recording it at high volume levels, but it has sounded like crap everywhere else.

ROCK!

Okay folks, pencils down.

You have reached the deadline. I will probably take a week to get the songs up, so those of you slacking have a little extra time. Keep those PMs coming!

Good work all!!!

Okay, my computer's about as stable as the Iraqi government and the joys of system restoring have eaten half my track. It appears to be working well enough now for me to post this, so I'm gonna try and blitz the fucker and get it done tonight. I can't believe this happened during coverfight instead of a normal fight, my sincerest apologies.

you are only banned if you completely fail to produce a song during a reciprocal-style coverfight. you are not banned for being late, or not coming through on a cover-some-pop-song-style coverfight.

late entries are a staple of coverfights, and if they are not expected, they should be.

Heh, ok. Anyway I think mine's done but I want to preview it on another set of speakers (the car). I'll hand it in tonight, I imagine!
I totally haven't eaten dinner yet ;)

Myself as well. My apologies are only half sincere until Ken gets the links up. Looks good for this weekend though, so I think I'll be OK as one of the slackers.

Prepare for the Dan-O Experience unsuspecting recipient.

Would you mind please starting a new thread for the actual covers when they're posted, Ken? This one's gotten a little unwieldy.

Okay, mine is sent and I have had dinner. Yay! I hope my coveree likes it; I re-imagined the style a lot.
